Cryptic Wisdom X's and O's
Pretty solid album from a talented underground rapper/musician. The album blends alternative rock, acoustic, and hip-hop, with occasional influences from post-grunge rock on some tracks... Tracks like "Problem" are reminiscent of alternative rock/post-grunge from the 90s (think Bush, Foo Fighters, Candlebox, Live etc.), but with maybe a little bit more emphasis on melody, than crunching guitars. Whereas tracks like Look at my Face almost take on a rap-rock feel. and a track like You is an acoustic ballad. As a whole, the album could be compared to a less angst-ridden Linkin Park, but with more of an acoustic backdrop, and with 90s rock influe

Foxygen ...And Star Power
I'm actually really surprised Foxygen was pretentious enough to put out 80 minutes of "teenager picks up a guitar for the first time and decides to form a band" quality music and expect people to buy it... Their first two albums(especially their first) had that raw, visceral feel to it, but at least it felt well-structured as well... this is just a complete mess. Kinda disappointing cause i liked their first two albums quite a bit.

Yung Lean Unknown Death 2002
This album was actually pretty enjoyable for me.. Deathstar - Getting Benjamins is probably my favorite track mainly cause of it's weirdness. Usually don't dig this style of hip-hop, but props to this guy for making me enjoy this :-)

  • sapient It's a good modern post punk record, some really solid guitar/bass interplay. However, it's a huge victim of the loudness war, hope you'll be ok with clipping everywhere xD
