  • organizedsound If you're interested I'm German literature, I recommend Georg Buchner if you haven't read his work already. He's only 19th century, but the qualities of his writing really place him alongside many of the early modernists as well as 20th century avant-garde playwrights such as Ionesco. Incredibly ahead of his time in both content and style. I'd recommend his novella, Lenz, or any of his plays. Fantastic writer.

  • organizedsound I have to read an obscene amount of stuff for college, so getting around to the authors I'm interested in has been a slow process. That being said, my current favorites and recent interests include Proust(he alone is preventing me from reading everything else I want to), Flaubert, Chekhov, Anne Carson, Pirandello, Artaud, William Carlos Williams, some of the "language" poets such as Armantrout and Hejinian, etc
