I'd really love to learn how to quote things properly.
On topic though, so excited for this.
| |
sounds FUCKING EPIC. I will HAVE to check this out when it's released or ahem... leaked.
| |
Very excited for this, sounds amazing.
| |
I am incredibly excited for this release. On the whole though, the track names don't seem like typical track names from Porcupine Tree...but I'm pretty drunk so maybe it's me.
| |
noice, this should be pretty tasty
| |
sounds awesome
| |
looking forward to this
| |
i'm getting the feeling that this won't top their last 2
| |
im rly getting the feelign it might
| |
Will undoubtedly be a crusher
| |
E P I C . P R O G . M U S I C .
| |
ugh
| |
Awesome. I've been really getting into these guys lately. This should be good.
| |
Nice :-)
| |
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
| |
looking forward to this. the fact it's a double disc worries me, though. most bands struggle to keep the quality up with double-discs, but i have faith.
| |
Awwwwwwwwwwww yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
| |
crazy how this band can put out quality disc after quality disc almost every 2 years
| |
My dick is so hard right now. Album has potential for record of the year for sure.
| |
yeaaaa booooiii
| |
yesyesyesyesyes!
| |
Can't wait for this
| |
it was definitely time for a Porcupine Tree double album ;)
really looking forward to this.
| |
i just came
| |
I'm looking forward to this as well, but I think it is kind of ridiculous how they are making a 55 minute song. I just don't understand why bands would want to make something so long, and would they be able to play it live? I'm sure it will still be great though.
| |
As hilariously pretentious as this is, I'm still pretty stoked for it.
| |
hugely epic if they can pull this off
| |
they haven't disappointed me yet
| |
The last 55 minute song I heard was Dvorak's Ninth. This should be interesting
| |
this band is a band
| |
will be incredibly boring
will be incredibly over-praised
| |
gonna be soooooo goooood.
| |
Im gonna have to agree with wellfell. I dont have that good of a feeling about this at all.
| |
No, it will rule.
| |
Why? Ever since Gavin Harrison has been in the band the music has been simply amazing.
They made a legit 17minute song, why can't they make a legitimate 55 minute song?
Besides, it'll probably have different movements in between so it won't just feel like one jumbled mess.
I say it's going to kick ass and going to get all the praise it deserves.
| |
There is a huge difference between a 17 minute song and a 55 minute song. And even if it does have movements, It doesnt matter. They could at least break up the song into the movements for a series of shorter songs, but something tells me its gonna be a few chips of gold in a huge pile of filler. But I'm not saying that the album will definitely suck. I could be completely wrong and it will blow every 2009 album out of the water.
| |
but something tells me its gonna be a few chips of gold in a huge pile of filler.
sounds a lot like porcupine tree's entire career amirite?
| |
not really, no
| |
The only PT albums I have heard are Deadwing and FOABP (which are both great) so it wouldnt be right to judge their whole career.
| |
ill have to look into this.
(both the album and the band in general)
| |
i'm betting the 55 minute song will be split into different tracks because it's fucked up otherwise, i expect something similar to 6doit or even the first disc to be some sort of foabp and the second to be a nil recurring thing except they're not outtakes
| |
I was going to bring up 6DOIT
| |
didn't they say somewhere that among other things they also simply wanted to piss off the ipod generation by recording such a long track? not sure though.
however, as Porcupine Tree albums are usually better when listened to in one go it won't bother me anyway.
| |
anyway, now I've brough up ipods I might just post this:

| |
He aims like a douchebag...
| |
You'd think one could think of a better idea to promote an album than destroying a product that your album is going to end up on anyway.
| |
that helps make it all the more facetious
| |
If this is anything as good ass last album, Ill cream.
| |
haven't listened to these guys in a long time.
maybe I'll give fear of a blank planet or deadwing a spin soon.
| |
55-minute song will:
not sound the same throughout
not have been produeced in the same session
be lyrically brilliant
| |
Thank you.
| |
bonnie the cat
| |
the title track will be good, the question is the rest of it.
| |
PT wouldn't let something as big as a 55-minute song slip. I have a feeling it'll challenge for their best, and if the rest is anything near as good as their recent stuff, we have one hell of an album on our hands...
| |
What's so weird about a 55 minute song? Light of Day, Day of Darkness was absolutely amazing and Green Carnation had never had a song over 60 minutes before that one came out.
| |
I hope this isn't going to be as lame as most of what they release.
| |
SPLURGE
| |
I hope it's as awesome as In Absentia.
| |
They've basically topped every previous album with every new album so far, so I wonder if they can keep it up...
| |
awwwww shit yea!
| |
Apparently this is about SW being stuck on the highway in a traffic jam driving past a car accident and it said POLICE - INCIDENT. Then he thought "what a cold way to describe something as tragic as a car accident" and went from there.
| |
oic
well it's something
