Petri Lindroos Leaves Norther
2009-03-14 by Magnus Altkula STAFF | 16 Comments

Finnish metal band Norther have parted ways with long time singer/guitarist Petri Lindroos.

Said the band in a statement: "Norther was forced to let Petri go to be able to continue. PetriĀ“s full time engagement in Ensiferum increasingly prevented Norther from functioning as an active band.

Petri wishes Norther all the best for the future. Current Norther crew, Kristian, Jukka, Tuomas and Heikki, wants to thank Petri for all these great years together and wishes him the best of luck with Ensiferum."

They have already begun looking a replacement.

this news is already about 1.5 weeks old, but nevertheless it has not been covered in here.

Bad loss I say, Petri was much better in Norther than he is in Ensiferum.

Well its a big loss but these guys really haven't been anything special since their first two albums, which are both really good neoclassical/melodeath shit.

From the few songs I've heard by them they haven't impressed me. These guys could probably hold tryouts at the nearest Finnish pub and find a dozen long-haired alcoholic guitar whizzes who can scream pretty well. I'm sure they'll get a good replacemeent.

Bfh, listen to their first two albums, Dream of Endless War and Mirror of Madness. They're both essentially like old CoB only less wanky and easier to take seriously.
