Amy Winehouse in label talks 2009-01-26 by Iai EMERITUS | 3 Comments | A commercial director of Universal Records, Brian Rose, has been sent by the label to Amy Winehouse's St. Lucia hideaway in what appears to be an attempt to put her career, and by extension her life, back on track.
The move follows new pictures of Winehouse that surfaced recently, showing her being abusive to hotel staff and guests while drinking heavily, and reports that the singer may have spent as much as £8,000 on food and drink for total strangers.
According to the official party line Rose has gone to see Winehouse to discuss future projects; yet, a source within Universal told Britain's The Sun newspaper that 'there don't see to be any solid plans for new music. But Universal is a business and it needs to know what is happening to one of its biggest talents. Brian has been told to drive some common sense into Amy and find out what the hell is going on'. The reports will no doubt fuel the rumours that Winehouse will be dropped should she fail to provide any new music to the label in the near future.
