Amy Winehouse makes label

http://buzzworthy.mtv.com/2009/01/20/somehow-despite-blinding-amounts-of-crack-and-booze-amy-winehouse-is-launching-a-record-label/

Quote:
Back in the day there was a Barbie campaign that went “We girls can do anything!” Apparently Amy Winehouse took that one to heart, because despite the crippling, skin- and lung-rotting effects of crack, booze, and cartons of cigarettes a day, and the results of snorting/ sniffing/ freebasing anything that isn’t tethered to the floor but certainly wasn’t intended for human consuption, Amy Winehouse has started a record label.
This from a girl who was essentially too s—faced to even appear in her own “Valerie” and “Love Is A Losing Game” videos. She canceled her appearance at the 2007 VMAs, could barely speak at the 2007 EMAs, and punched a fan at Glastonbury this past year. And who likes to act like a horse.
Yeah, so Amy Winehouse just started Lioness Records, and the first artist out of the gate will be Dionne Bromfield, who’s apparently Amy’s goddaughter. (This begs the question, WHAT KIND OF SITUATION DO YOU HAVE TO BE IN IN YOUR LIFE TO ASK AMY WINEHOUSE TO BE YOUR DAUGHTER’S GODMOTHER?)
So, watch for that. Other things to watch out for: Amy Winehouse finally succumbing to dentures, and/or leprosy, Amy Winehouse being contained only via the type of cage usually reserved for large game, Dionne Bromfield’s mother finally taking parenting classes.

I grew up with the knowledge that rockstars are freaks.

And I'm pretty sure there was an unspoken agreement that we were cool with that.

So I'll never get why this sort of thing persists.

This chick is crazy, but hey, maybe she'll be a better manager than musician.

If this means she's planning to release new material soon, then I'm happy. The media focus on her personal habits way too much tbh, she may be messed up, but I doubt that revealing her every move to the public is gonna help that. This Message Edited On 01.22.09

Of course its not going to help! Why do you think the media does that in the first place! They make their living out of documenting the failures of the famous!

as some others have said.
only someone with the mind of a smurf would think it's cool to bag amy like that. she's in big fucking trouble with her life and anyone who can't see that needs a look in the mirror each day to see how perfect THEY are!

some giggles in there no doubt but she is an easy target. like brittney or paris.

the difference with amy is that she could do so much...and DOES even when completely off her naugs.

i honestly think she's a nice person but with a rough passage out at the moment

pity the OP couldn't have 'happened' to mention that that punching incident was allegedly due to someone grabbing her breast and squeezing....any artist deserve that JUST because they're a public figure??

i've lost count of the times i've seen an artist (nick cave, henry rollins, robbie williams, mick jagger, keef..the list goes on) being attacked or molested on stage beggars belief.

so let's have ALL the truth in the news eh?

btw: anyone who hangs around with noel fielding (mighty boosh) as a friend has to be credited with 1000 coolness points.
