AC/DC Teams With Wal-Mart

2008-06-10 by tcaporale | 24 Comments
According to the Wall Street Journal, AC/DC's new album set to be released in the fall will only be sold through Wal-Mart's chain of stores throughout the United States. This is a move, as some may remember, previously done by The Eagles. It is clear that Wal-Mart will not stop its plans for world domination until they wrap up the rights to every aging, overrated classic rock band in the world.

I hate wallmart, I used to catch a deal there every once in a good while and now there music section is half of what it used to be.

Basically, AC/DC are saying 'our fans shop at walmart anyway, so who gives a flying fuck if we sell our soul to a bunch of douche bags'

I wasn't going to buy the album anyway, so this doesn't affect me much.

Wal-Mart still buggers small minority children, though.

Wal-Mart doesn't press charges if you steal things under 20$ so...we can all steal this. Fuck Wal-Mart.

This makes perfect sense. AC/DC are a rock n roll band from the 70s waiting for a comeback, and Wal-Mart has the supplies to do it. I don't know why it qualifies as selling out. It's not like any other band *cough* EAGLES *cough* have done it before.

And Artherring, they aren't metal, far from it. They are Hard Rock.

Metal, hard rock, there's not enough difference as I'd like to believe. Either way, I still hate them.

I didnt know AC/DC still even made music. What is with all these bands big in the 80s thinking they can disappear and all of a sudden come back and people will still actually care? I loved AC/DC but i could really care less about this album.

Walmart owns, as for AC/DC... I'll probably give it a listen, but I'm not expecting much.

Ungt. Walmart.

I don't care about AC/DC, but it pissed me off when The Eagles did this. How can a band that wrote a song like "The Last Resort" turn around and sell an album exclusively through Walmart?

I was contemplating getting the album just to see what it was like, but now i don't think ill make the trip out to Hickory Texas to find a walmart.

But you do realize they do this so that they don't have to go through a label and distribution company.
