Saw the video. I wasn't the biggest fan of their new stuff but the video was a touching memorial to the guy. Depression sucks.

Literally just watched this, very emotional
|

Jay-Z neeeeeds to be a part of this
|
| |
Really glad they made a music video for this song, it's the only one I like on One More Light.
|
| |
Really hope they get the whole night filmed. Needs memorialising.

I guess there'll be a long list of rock/metal and pop singers being lined up for this, such was the extent of Linkin Park's reach. And it will probably be a nice mix of singers from different backgrounds.
|
| |
yeah hope they get it professionally filmed, not a huge fan of these guys anymore but the album takes on a whole new meaning after with the context. absolutely brutal what happened. fuck mental disorders.
|

>Linkin Park & Friends
Why does that sound like a sitcom title or something

Mike Shinoda draws the ire of Jennifer Aniston after forgetting to the clean the dishes

ok really tho linkin park was not particularly memorable after meteora can we stop pretending
|

A Thousand Suns is a good album and nothing will ever change my mind.

"ok really tho linkin park was not particularly memorable after meteora can we stop pretending"
The lead singer killed himself less than two months ago, dick.

A Thousand Suns and The Hunting Party are my favourite albums of theirs, so no.

Honestly even before Chester died I dug their post-Meteora shit way more. Not much, but definitely more than the first two lol.
|
| |
That statement about LP not bring memorable after Meteor a is totally bullshit. I love every album of theirs including One More Light
|
| |
I think Homer's got a fundamental misunderstanding of what a memorial is
|
| |
"ok really tho linkin park was not particularly memorable after meteora can we stop pretending"
Ohh, that's why they all debuted nr. 1 on the Billboard 200.
|
| |
'ok really tho linkin park was not particularly memorable after meteora can we stop pretending'
Which is why, since Bennington's death, a huge amount of the professional music community have paid tribute to him, and the band's massive fan base have rallied to the cause of promoting fighting the mental illness that killed him and Chris Cornell?
You're an ignorant dick.
|
| |
lol the edge on HomerPimpson's comment
|
| |
He's right tho, he didn't insult the dude in anyway he just said that's their best material.
|
| |
The hunting part is one of their best, so no he's not right
|
| |
Play Reanimation in its entirety please
|
| |
Play a line in the sand and a place for my head
I actually adore their old school stuff and THP, also I enjoy most of their post meteora shit. Sadly OML regardless of the context is a bad album

HIM Screamworks: Love In Theory And Practice

Hey homer, did you knew that a day to remember, him, gerard way and juicy jay praised and have a lot of respect for chester. By the way those high ratings for ICP, katy perry, escape the fate and skrillex are laughable as shit. Remember that kid from high school who laughed every time anyone said "penis"? He probably listens to Insane Clown Posse.

I mean no offense to the guy, it sucks he died so young and everything, but can we be real for a second? Who the hell are these people whose lives were so profoundly affected by Linkin Park? Linking fucking Park? Really now? I mean come on.
|
| |
i mean they are one of if not the biggest band of the 2000s who have an enormous fanbase. obviously there are people affected by them
|
| |
Yeah, whatever your favorite band is, the chances are low that it affected even half as many lives as LP did (unless it's The Beatles or obvious stuff like that). You can say what you want about their music and I myself never really cared for it, but, like, a whole generation of music fans has come to love the medium via this band. To deny that is ignorant.
|
| |
I really, really hope they are gonna livestream this. I want to go so bad but sadly I live across the country and the financial burden of attending makes it impractical.

'Who the hell are these people whose lives were so profoundly affected by Linkin Park?'
Well, for starters let's acknowledge what multiple people have already stated, including myself; a MASSIVE worldwide fan base that has made them one of the biggest rock acts of their generation.
Then comes other artists listing Linkin Park as an influence to their sound, of ALL genres. A ton of artists have cited Linkin Park as an influence, and after nearly two very successful decades actively releasing material, collaborating with names both big and small, it's clear they've made their mark on the musical community.
Then comes literally the most obvious answer to "who the hell are these people whose lives were so profoundly affected?"; in 2004, Linkin Park FOUNDED Music For Relief.
Among 'profoundly affecting' lives providing relief for multiple disasters such as the Haiti earthquake, Hurricane Sandy, flooding in Pakistan and various others. Music For Relief has also assisted in reforestation efforts, raised awareness promoting renewable energy for 1.3 billion people, and conducted promotional meetings for new sustainable energy for the U.S.
So, in answer to your question, quite a fucking few.
|
| |
will they donate the proceeds to anti depression medical research? heh
|
| |
Who the hell are these people whose lives were so profoundly affected by Linkin Park?
I would never have picked up the microphone, toured my country and released 3 full-length albums. How about that for not being profoundly affected?
|
| |
^ who are you again?
|
| |
Besides Hybrid Theory being the first album I ever owned, Linkin Park was a gateway to loving both metal and rap/hip-hop. How could this band NOT have affected anyone?
|
| |
Damn the lyrics in that song are hauntingly fitting given the situation.
|
| |
if Mitch Lucker can get a memorial show on DVD, so can Chester. don't worry guys, i'm sure we'll get a professionally filmed video of this in its entirety
|
| |
i hope members of soundgarden/ratm/jay-z/chino moreno appear
|
| |
"Hey man, this band didn't affect me personally, so I don't know how they could have affected anyone else. Lol. Plebs."
|
| |
Lol whats with these users dropping in who think theyre being "real". LP are a huge band, and there are people like me who grew up listening to Hybrid Theory and Meteora and were pretty fucking bummed about his suicide. How retarded to you have to be to need this explained to you.
|
| |

Seriously that man will never cease to infuriate.

"Where the fuck is Serj though..."
He commented on SOAD's instagram post, that he won't be in the country on the 27th but is going to try to make it. So I guess there's the off chance that he can make a last minute appearance
