album is excellent, singles are the weakest songs for me (they're growing on me though), rest of the album delivers

Fuck no it isn't. Bland to the point of brutality. It's a desert of inspiration.

It's punk to clueless brats who dig this sort of bollocks.

Captain, we're sinking? Drown you fucks, your bloated corpses will feed the fish so it's no great loss.

I mean you're fucking useless. What the fuck possessed you to form a band? Wanted to make 'product' did you? Wanted to be part of the 'scene' did you? Course you did you vapid touters of bullshit.

this sounds like generic indie/alt-rock type shite, pop-punk at most, but I consistently see this band referred to as "punk rock" both on sput and off and I'm struggling to understand it. this doesn't resemble any band from any era of punk to me. hell, even Rise Against is more genuinely punk rock than this.

I got their last album when Run for Cover did their Planned Parenthood donation NYP sale. it wasn't bad but I still didn't hear much punk in it.

who made zakalwe so bitter
anyways, listening to TFIC after this was so disappointing. many of the songs on that were growers, so I hope I start to gradually like songs off this a little more. but man, night and day between those two albums. every time I hear their signature vocals and that crunchy guitar tone on this, I can't help but itch for the energy and incredible melodies off TFIC. it's still Captain, We're Sinking, but trapped in the uncanny valley. this sounds so resigned and tired by comparison

...yeah, official streaming is usually at 192, this youtube video probably is too. high quality is still going to sound a little different.
