New Samsara Blues Experiment album

2017-03-20 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 6 Comments
German psychedelic/stoner rock band, Samsara Blues Experiment will release their 4th studio album, One with the Universe on May 12, through Electric Magic Records.

The band also debuted the first song off the record, 'Vipassana' and can be streamed below via The Obelisk: http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/2017/03/20/samsara-blues-experiment-one-with-the-universe-vipassana-premiere/

Regarding the track, guitarist/vocalist Christian Peter mentioned: "It is the first song we did after Richard [Behrens] had left the band. It came out from a series of jam sessions. The song topic seems to be about growing up, or maybe growing up responsibly. Kind of a coming of age thing, wrapped in heavy riffs and Pink Floydish-psychedelia, plus some kind of Indian raga theme. It’s pretty much what one can consider as ‘classic SBE’-material already, I think. It may be interesting to know that Richard, who did not play any instruments, but again recorded the album, also contributed some nice ideas in the process, like having me play the backward solo or putting in some vintage tape-effects. we are all very happy with the outcome of this song in particular and hope you will enjoy. there is much more on the album."

I really like the new song. Its more doomy than their past work, but it retains everything else I like about them while doubling down on Floydy synths.
