Havok premiere prog-inspired track

2017-02-08 by Ebola | 31 Comments
Modern thrash behemoths Havok have released "Ingsoc," the second single from their new record. Standing in stark contrast with lead single "Hang 'Em High," it spans over 7 minutes and presents a more progressive aesthetic.

"Conformicide" is due for a March 10th release.

This isn't very good unless you like the same riffs for 4 minutes.
"sounds like TSOP-era Death"
maybe you should listen to that album again...

If this sounds like TSOP then Nickelback sounds like Ulcerate.
With that being said, song is OK.

Hmm, I don't think the longer length helps the song much. Sounded good though, should be better than the previous album I hope.

And damn that snare is punchy

Not bad. Haven't bothered with the band up till now but this sounds like a cross between Revocation and Vektor.

It does sound a little bit like death. still not very good though. but good for havok that they start experimenting. vektor really are shaking the genre up.

I could hit a tin of sardines and make a better drum sound than this.

this is proggy like Metallica was proggy, which is to say, not really at all. It's just a long intro to waste space, then the same verses with the same riff for four minutes, an extended bridge/guitar solo section, and then it ends like a typical song.

Liked their last 2 albums, but these two singles are boring. -_-

this doesnt sound anything like death or vektor or any other band mentioned it just sounds like modern thrash to me
also not progressive in the slightest. weird intro + 7 min length = prog/experimental apparently but i guess it fooled the dumb meat heads in the youtube comments

Man you just have an ear for the worst drum sounds, don't you Snide?

It's like you don't understand what drums actually sound like

I just really enjoy when the snare is in your face like on this track, not to mention the fact that the tone itself sounds so clean and defined.
