Cynic demos compilation

2017-02-06 by Space Jester | 16 Comments
Metal record label Century Media announced late last year that they we be releasing a compilation of Cynic tracks titled Uroboric Forms - The Complete Demo Recordings. The album features all four of the band's demo recording sessions released prior to the band's debut full-length album Focus. Both the CD and vinyl versions feature new artwork by Manuel Tinnemans, while the vinyl version exclusively has been remastered by Patrick W. Engel and includes a 7" with two previously unreleased audition tracks featuring Brian DeNeffe of Viogression on vocals.

The album is set to be released on multiple formats on February 10th, 2017.

Cool. That 91 demo is a gem. Still makes me wonder what Cynic would've become had they gone down that path.

It definitely is one of those remasters that is worth releasing. They removed a lot of the muddy sound, and the big thing is the tape hiss is gone.

If they could re-press Focus and Traced in Air, that would be great.

Probably will give it a listen. I was jamming Traced in Air this morning and I had forgotten how awesome that record is.

Will have to look into. I've fallen out of love with the band after the last EP + LP were utter shite. But the review for Traced in Air was the cause for my first ever visit on this site, and I'm a nostalgic guy. Their early stuff was killer, and so was TiA.

Their 90 and 91 demos are absolutely sick. Really looking forward to picking this up on Friday.

I preordered this at my record store and I already have it. Apparently sources were wrong because my CD has the bonus tracks and sounds remastered

@tellah: they broke up a while ago.

Anyways, definitely gonna check this out. I feel like one of the only people that likes everything they put out.
