Here's a prediction: they release a new album next year as a quartet behind only Andy. all clean vocals, no screams and it's 10 times lighter than Retrograde and while I'll still root for it as a fan, it could very well be weaker than ever their Fallout and Resistance days.
They have a ghost writer?! Smd, posers
Digging: Gang Starr - Daily Operation
So basically, they'll do on their next album what I See Stars did

pretty sure all these bands use the same ghostwriter
Digging: Craig Finn - We All Want the Same Things
yeah, even when the songwriting gets 10 times better lol
As much as I love CTE's music, their passive aggressive commentary towards David really pissed me off and made me lose a lot of respect for them.
David's response really took the high ground, and I'm avidly looking forward to David's solo work.
Who are these turkeys never heard of em
another ensemble of verb the noun hackery
"yeah, even when the songwriting gets 10 times better lol"
not remotely sure what your point is but mine was that the songwriting is basically dogshit across the board when it comes to this tripe.
also, and this is the important part, it was a joke.
Damn that guy was the better of the two singers. Last album was garbage and it felt like he was barely even on the thing anyway
"not remotely sure what your point is but mine was that the songwriting is basically dogshit across the board when it comes to this tripe.
also, and this is the important part, it was a joke."
my point is that yeah, all the core bands probably use the same writers. I was agreeing with you.
oh i'm an idiot my bad
"We've never heard or seen Dave make anything, artistically or musically in the 4 years he was in our band, so we're just as excited to see what he does make as you are."
Damn, the fans' comments on their post are fucking brutal! No one seems to eve want to support the band after this. lol.
RIP Crown The Empire :'-(
I'll go put 'The Phoenix Reborn' on repeat and cry in my pillow
Wow these guys sound like assholes. Never liked the band anyways but seriously hoping the dude makes mad $$$ from his solo stuff to spite them.
I have no respect for these guys anymore, they don't write their own stuff, and they claim it as their own. They also shit on Dave upon his departure. They couldn't have been more childish about it. Dave has a great voice, and he can shred, I sincerely hope the best for him, and the worst for Crown.
Digging: Com Truise - Iteration
damn now I feel bad for giving their latest a 4.5...it's really good but I hate it when bands don't write their own stuff. Well at least it seems the writer is a good friend and not just some random dude.
"not voluntary nor forced"
lol rise didn't even let them in the studio to record their own album. As if this kind of music was hard to write. End this bullshit ghostwriter boy band core ffs
It's a shame but honestly only Fallout was deserving an attention IMO .
Digging: The Amazons - The Amazons
Yeah I'm gonna be eagerly following Dave's work outside the band.
someone just changed the summary on the band's page lol
Digging: All Time Low - Last Young Renegade
"not voluntary nor forced"
according to a 2014 interview they admitted a ghost writer (old non-touring member) and their one guitarist did most of the writing, so I suppose this shouldn't come as much of a surprise to uber fans.
"damn now I feel bad for giving their latest a 4.5...it's really good but I hate it when bands don't write their own stuff. Well at least it seems the writer is a good friend and not just some random dude."
Dave says in his statement it isn't even a friend, it's some dude Rise hired
And nothing of value was lost. Feel sorry for the dude though.
It seems as if all these metalcore bands are going down the drain. Dang.
Do people not realize Andy screamed before Dave joined the band?
"Dave says in his statement it isn't even a friend, it's some dude Rise hired"
I read his statement and he doesn't say that. Dude who writes stuff seems to be that Brendon who is indeed credited from their very first album up until the recent one.
@erizen826 I know that. Their first ep was awesome. I don't feel like Andy is going to be doing much screaming though.
nothing of value was lost tbh
"not voluntary nor forced"
that makes no shred of sense and honestly this isn't surprising. they really don't need a screamer anymore with the softer more alt sound they are going for. screaming isn't considered "cool" anymore in most of these risecore bands. its all about primary cleans now even over heavy stuff.
Digging: Currents - The Place I Feel Safest
wow... Dave said in his statement that sometimes the band weren't even allowed into the room to write the damn album (Retrograde). Must be why it was pretty trash. That's pretty ridiculous. Rise Records is a piece of fucking shit.
Digging: Suffocation - Pierced from Within
Judging by their sound they need a new ghost writer . These dudes are fakes and frauds .
Is it just me or is their page on sputnik totally empty
"not voluntary, nor forced"
the fuck does that mean? did he just go up in a cloud of smoke?
yeah somebody fucked up their page
Dave was CTEs best vocalist of the two, so they took a big hit. Saw them live with just andy and it was bad. So like retrograde, this band will fall into obscurity
just took a big hit myself #520
I find it asinine to criticize Dave for having little creative input when they seemingly had just as little input as him. I also find it funny how they say they all grew as people and wouldn't let their selfishness tear them apart, and right afterwards they try and shit on the guy. Really good job displaying the "personal growth" and "selflessness" you all tought each other.
Digging: '68 - Two Parts Viper
I wonder what David did that is so fucked up to get him pretty much kicked out. Telling everyone that they don't write shit makes it seem like he is kind of salty. I can understand why CTE was being passive aggressive in their statement.
scene bands and their soap operas
Dave seems to be doing well enough on his own. He's releasing snippets of tracks he's made (with some collaboration), and song covers on Twitter.

Telle Smith of The World Alive has stated that he's willing to work with Dave as well.
