Still think it's super underwhelming. Moth into Flames has been the best single so far and probably one of their best since Black Album and I quite liked Death Magnetic

I was actually just about to say how Lars has impressed me in the first three singles so far, while Kirk has been extremely underwhelming, but I guess not everyone here shares my opinion on the drumming :/

James does sound really passionless here, like these were the last vocal sessions he had to do and just wanted them done.

Is the album version gonna sound like this? Seems like it wasn't mastered properly, particularly with the vocals.

I second that, the production sounds poor. The drums sound off, the kick and snare are compressed very hard, and sit too loud in the mix.

God why do they do videos like this? It doesn't show a band vibrant with energy. It shows a bunch of old dudes who look exhausted and frustrated. The only one with a positive vibe is Lars but he's air drumming along as if it's hard to keep up with a 4/4 beat. Put it to rest and enjoy your money Metallica.
