I'm all about a band changing their sound, but so far the 2 singles have both fallen more under radio Rock than ever before for this band. Melody wise, this song is good. But the chorus lyrics are so incredibly recycled! I still have high hopes for the album, but will be shocked if it beats Fortress.

i always felt AB needed to get a tad more experimental to really take it to the next level (although their former releases are all fairly good). So a move in the other direction (safer, more boring) is definitely a misstep imo.

So far the only thing I've heard in the singles is standard arena rock. Why is AB so bad at choosing singles? Thanks to Open Your Eyes as their first single they're still seen as Creed imposers even though they sound nothing like them except for a few songs on their first two records. Seems like they still haven't learned from that time, lol.

I do hope the rest of the album isn't as bland as this but I have my hopes as they have the tendency to drop the most shite songs first and then leave the best ones for when the album releases.

Tremonti's guitar playing has always been the best thing about this band. I wish they'd all come up to his standard and do something that truly realizes the band's potential.
