Rap album of the year possibly the decade with this
| |
oh NO
| |
The world is going to mass shit themselves if this happens. It's gonna be like that one episode of South Park where 3 million kids play the brown note on recorders and the entire world shits themselves. Thank god I don't use social media and won't have to deal with the shit storm that it's going to bring.
| |
kanye's way too not boring for a collab with drake
if kanye starts making shit dancehall I'm dead
| |
very interesting...
| |
i don't see this pairing making anything exciting tbh, would love to be proven wrong
| |
If Ye stays quiet and produces the album I'm cool with it. Not tryna hear 2016 Ye spit on a track at all tbh.
| |
he prob will lol
| |
yeah cause drake is such a great rapper
| |
I think this has a lot of potential.
I'm hoping this is more along the lines of say Black Star then Watch the Throne or WATTBA, meaning I want it to sound like they are trying to make a good project and not just a victory lap album.
| |
i mean, kanye has been struggling to make decent music lately so he may need a different point of view to get back on track. Even if it is drake
| |
2000% trash
| |
And for the first time in 5 years. We have a contender for worst collab album since Lulu.
| |
“yeah cause Drake is such a great rapper"
Didn't say he was great. He's tolerable though and adapts well to Ye's production.
| |
might make for a good pop album
the second either one of them starts rapping im gonna start crying
| |
Inb4 they're gonna use either memes or controversy to get attention because they're trash artists
| |
watch the throne was cool af so hyped
| |
What's drugs my dealer?
| |
Gah...Drake is just hopping onto everyone's cock isn't he? I'm not expecting too much from this. I like Kanye, but I can't see this being good.
| |
I'm dead, Picasso is dead, Walt Disney is dead, Steve Jobs is dead.
| |
Hopefully Kanye can learn something from Drake here; I just hope he doesn't drag Drake down.
| |
He's gonna pull Drake right off of that CN Tower
| |
Still think Drake needs to either do a collab album with 2chainz or French Montana. His style meshes better with guys like that.
| |
Interesting.
| |
Pls no more parties in the L.A.
| |
Both rappers are complete shit, with Drake being the slightly better one so I don't see any reason for this to exist. Rap standards have fallen so far in this world.
| |
"If Ye stays quiet and produces the album I'm cool with it. Not tryna hear 2016 Ye spit on a track at all tbh."
It always baffles me that people don't seem to realize that Kanye doesn't make beats anymore. The vast majority of beats he's been credited on over the past 5 years have a nauseating amount of co-producers at the helm and as a huge fan of Kanye's early production work, I'm pretty confident in saying that his true impact on the tracks he "produces" these days is minimal. More of an executive producer-type role, which is a shame, because his beats were other-worldly for a time. RIP Yeezy beats.
| |
One thing's for sure, it'll be better than that piece of shit Watch the Throne album
| |
ugh
| |
"Rap album of the year possibly the decade with this"
what
| |
There literally could not possibly be a less appealing idea
| |
watch the throne kicked ass tvc get real
| |
^I ain't heard nobody talk about Watch the Th- wait.....that means it might actually be good. I'm so confused!
| |
"It was never mentioned whether this album would be released on Tidal or Apple, which both Kanye and Drake have exclusively released their last albums on, respectively, which may complicate the creation of this album."
Imagine if that actually stopped the album from happening? lol
| |
will be the goat ainefc
| |
"One thing's for sure, it'll be better than that piece of shit Watch the Throne album"

Digging: Capture the Crown - Reign of Terror
| |
album will drop exclusively on Tidal as fire rains from the sky and California is swallowed by the Pacific
| |
there's a 0% chance this won't be embarrassingly bad
| |
Sweet, the two lamest rappers currently in the game team up to make a massive turd the likes of which haven't been seen since the one that got flushed during the studio sessions of "Watch the (Porcelain) Throne".
| |
oh nooOOOOooooo, with all that's happening in the world rn I don't think it can take much more.
| |
this is gonna be bad me thinks.

hopefully this will suck enough for ppl to stop giving a shit about both of them but not likely
| |
"hopefully this will suck enough for ppl to stop giving a shit about both of them but not likely"
unfortunately hip hop is no longer a genre where artists are punished for making bad music.
| |
this will suck enough and I hope ppl stop giving a shit about both of them
Hurry up with my damn croissants in my french ass restaurants
| |
apparently drake wrote some melodies on 30 hours and real friends so im expecting some stuff like that

"If Ye stays quiet and produces the album I'm cool with it. Not tryna hear 2016 Ye spit on a track at all tbh."
real shit. if he produces more beats like U With me, i'm cool with this
| |
I didn't think 2016 would give us a rap record worst than macklememe's new release and the upcoming Lupe LPs.
| |
logic, aesop rock
| |
I didn't think 2016 would give us a rap record worst than mackleme's new release, the upcoming Lupe LPs, Logic's pathetic display, and Aesop Cock.
| |
cant argue with that. what's up with the new lupe joints? he was never particularly bad, just boring
| |
He announced he has three LPs coming out this hear and so far only one single, and that sai single is arguably the most atrocious thing he's made in a decade.
| |
'real shit'
| |
This will be a classic
| |
Will def be better than that Drake/Future collab too
| |
prob not

I thought the Drake Future collab was really good tbh.
| |
'real shit'
yea this is something that people say outside of europe bro

Oh dear. Both of their fanbases will rocket the album to number 1, even if it's nothing but radio static.

Stop being 12
| |
theyre not the 12 year old here.
| |
You can buy all the Kanye, and Drake albums you want to I don't care. Just because you are a fan it does not mean I have to be a fan I don't care for their style, and they are overated.
| |
no shit
| |
anime is the devil
| |
Yup, we all have our own taste in music, and opinions.
| |
I AM A GOD, HURRY UP WITH MY DAMN CROISSANTS

| |
if you wana easily pick out the biggest losers on the site make a thread about ye or drake [2]
| |
a gay fish is collabing with drake? this could be interesting
| |
Probably wouldn't listen simply because Drake is on it. Can't stand his shitty lyrics, flat singing voice and boring rapping style.
| |
Not to mention the uninteresting beats
| |
If you wana easily pick out the biggest losers on the site just find all the users who 5 Kanye and Drake albums.
| |
or the user who out of 1300+ ratings has only positively rated albums from eminem and aesop rock and then proceeds to make comments about the rap albums other people rat-oh....
| |
I have a Kanye album rated a 3 too buddy why don't you dig through my profile some more
| |
a 3 damn how charitable
| |
oh wait i found a tech n9ne album in there we're good.
| |
Oh Kanye, with all bias aside, yes you did make a an decent/good album once.
| |
Forgot about tech n9ne. I admit I need to rate more hip hop but I've heard more than I've rated.
Wow is this what kids do on here is go copy and paste stuff off each other's profiles as an attempt to make someone feel shame for their ratings? I'm beyond flattered guys
| |
If you wana easily pick out the biggest losers on the site just find all the users who dig through other people's ratings for an insult
| |
you're all fucking idiots tbh
| |
whaaa whhaaa people have opinions i dont like whaaa whaaa
| |
you are embarrassing yourself just stop please
| |

| |

| |
'whaaa whhaaa people will buy music from a popular artist i dont like whaaa whaaa'
Lmao dude do you have Alzheimers
| |
yeah i didnt literally mean how i said something you moron i said where did i say anything about other peoples opinions
| |
smh so embarrassing
| |
People dislike Kanye and Drake, for valid reasons.
Then you go and act all butthurt like calm down dude it's just people on the internet
| |
lmao what
| |
did you actually read the thread or did you just gloss over what you thought was necessary
| |
i dont think they read the thread at all. they just saw your name and rolled with it.
| |
NO
| |
This album leaked, I just heard it.
It sucks.
| |
Hillary, where did you found that album. I need to know how awful it is
| |
Sinternet is like every other generic hipster with no culture and a really low IQ. No matter how shitty are the albums of kanye and drake, they are going to defend crap from an inferior genre like mainstream rap
| |
"Hillary, where did you found that album. I need to know how awful it is"
he didn't, he's just being a middle age edgelord
| |
I think sinternet's tired of people hating on drake and kanye west for being bad because he's seen enough of it and thinks it's cliché.
they still deserve all the hate
| |
idk how u can hate Kanye unless u got ijto hip hop in like 2014 or something. dude is a legend despite his missteps in recent years
| |
I think if u got into hip hop in 2014 or something you're more likely to think he's a legend
| |
^
| |
lol, the dude completely changed the face of hip hop in the mid-late 00's. yall are telling on urselves
| |
i mean crypt idk what ur doing cosigning that when u got the most literally vanilla taste in hip hop of all time. looking like u discovered the genre on reddit last summer and shit
| |
Kanye's impact on hip hop in the 2000s cannot be understated, the mans hella important, like him or not.
| |
Kanye has been like the most influential hip hop artist of the past decade though.
| |
unrelated, but yall should listen to Saul Williams.
| |
and that's without even going into his behind the scenes production in the late 90's-early 00's on classic records before he became an MC, and putting Jay-Z back on the map with his production on The Blueprint
| |
fuck that era and theyre one of the main reasons it sucks
| |
ok, but you trying to say he isnt 'a legend' when he clearly is important for rap. so...
| |
that's a personal opinion, doesnt change the fact that he's the most influential rapper of the past 2 decades
| |
someone listen to saul william's first album please.
| |
most influential of the past 2 decades sure. "legend" has too positive of a connotation than im comfortable giving to that ballsack
| |
in 20/30 years most ppl will look back at kanye as a legend of hip hop who completely changed the face of hip hop production, rapping/singing and fashion. dont let ur hate of him get in the way of acknowledging his accomplishments
| |
If Kanye isn't a legend then what is he then?
| |
a god huehuehuehue
| |
u mofos need to listen to Amethyst Rock Star and Still Breezy arghhhhhh
| |
i'll peep saul just for u clove
| |
thanks bby, industrial spoken word/rapping abstract tweedle dee tweedle dum hippity hop rocks.
| |
Still Brazy is pretty dope. I've been reced Saul Williams like three times now and I really need to get on that.
| |
i felt it was a dead genre. like seriously im not trolling anymore. it died when the carter 3 dropped and got praise. anything after that was something else for me. like there are obviously people still contributing to hip hop, but until the 90s are "surpassed", this shit is still in need of a renaissance soon
| |
i mean most of his best work came before carter 3 dropped so
| |
hip hop doesnt really need some kind of renaissance, honestly. you have plenty of people keeping it real who don't need the spotlight 100% on them. its a genre that can thrive on mainstream and a hella strong underground.
| |
exactly, the underground will never die...that's hip hops roots right there
| |
idk if i even like the underground anymore. theyre either reliving the 90s or just being weird. or theyre whack (compared with 90s mcs). like look how vibrant the 90s were. you needed mobb deep, nas, wutang AND jay z just to take hip hop back from the west coast. now we have maybe 1 rapper at that musical skill level in the game tops
| |
and that was just ny in a 3 yr period
| |
eh, i disagree. i like seeing music at this weird amalgamate where easy access to production software and advertising has created music thats far more free in sound and less constrained to trends outside of the mainstream (and even thats an exception). if all rap music started returning to following a 'new age' trend then it would get boring, cuz we already saw it in the 90s and we dont need to see it again.
| |
im all for new music and experimentation and shit...i just dont think im gonna be rating new hip hop 5 any time soon. and its not like im salty :[
| |
eh i guess so, ive been hearing a lot of rap lately both new and old and been throwing a lot of 4s and 4.5s out there. First rap record ive ever 5d is Signor Benedick's El Negro and that came out in 2013. Dont know of its your speed, but man I love it.
| |
ill peep it
| |
if you need a track or two to peep at i recommend Belladonna, Mouth of the Beast, Lecherous/Sensless/Debauchery, or .//End
| |
please listen to saul williams
| |
