I want to make sure people are aware that the stream is pretty low quality compared to the actual album. So, this will give you an idea of what the album sounds like, but not what the actual sound quality is.

thanks, i was wondering that when i was listening. it sounded terrible but i figured it was because it never got properly mastered.

Why would they do a super low rate stream? Excited to hear it anyway but still.

Yeah. It doesn't make a lot of sense to have such a low quality stream. Especially since it's a release of such an old album. People might assume it's just how it sounds.

Yeah I'm gonna wait til it comes out and buy a physical copy. As much as I wanna jam this I don't really wanna hear it with shitty quality.

Then again who am I kidding..... Idk if I can wait 3 days.

Good god, this stream is shit. Complete potato quality.

That said, comparing this version of Heaven Torn Asunder with the one from 1996, this one is a LOT better.

The same could be said about basically every song on The Original Sin.

RIP the tapping part in funeral in carpathia

But the strings are louder and sound awesome in that section

Yeah I don't think this is as good as the original Dusk just based on a few listens, but of course it still slays.

Heaven Torn Asunder sounds especially amazing on this version.

You have to wait until you can hear the full-quality version on some good speakers.

Oh wow, the stream quality is much worse than I was expecting tbh. Not unlistenable or anything but definitley poor.

I really like this version of Gothic Romance, but Heaven Torn Asunder is definitely better on this album, too.

Heaven Torn Asunder is the only one I like more on the new version than the old. This still absolutely rips though.

hmmm, yeah Im getting into the title track now and i'm kinda swinging back to the Music For Nations version, at least on this track. I think the trend I'm seeing so far is the vocals, drums and DEFINITELY the bass are better on this Cacophonous version but the orchestrations and keyboards are way better on the MFN version...[EDIT:guitars are somewhere in the middle, I like particular things from one version over the other and vice versa]....anyone else getting confused as f*ck on which one to call the "new" one and which the "old" one, tho?

--anyone else getting confused as f*ck on which one to call the "new" one and which the "old" one?--

I fucked it up over and over while writing the review.

--I think the trend I'm seeing so far is the guitars, vocals, drums and DEFINITELY the bass are better on this Cacophonous version but the orchestrations and keyboards are way better on the MFN version--

True enough. So, I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I think the keyboard are good enough, especially with how much better everything else is.
