New Animal Collective, Live!

2016-05-18 by Right-clicker mentality | 14 Comments
After deciding against cancelling, and performing in Asheville, North Carolina, the band Animal Collective have decided to release two live albums, which are remastered versions of two live shows, one at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, CA, and one at the O2 Ritz Manchester, UK.

The albums are in a "pay-what-you-want" format on their official Bandcamp page, and all of the proceedings will go to Progress NC, an organization currently fighting against the controversial HB2 law that attacks the rights of LGBT+ individuals.

Fuck the bigots who are supporting the laws against transgender people. My brother is a musician based out of California (from St. Louis) that faces ignorance and bigotry on a daily basis due to his biological appearance as a woman but identifies as a male. I appreciate, and I'm sure he will too, to hear that Animal Collective is supporting and bringing awareness to the matter. Both of these releases sound promising and I've of course went and listened to the old classics they perform on both.

Thanks Winesburgohio & Asdfp277! He just recently released an album with Greg Douglass of the Steve Miller Band.
And for those looking to get into this incredible band, the easiest entry point would be Feels or Merriweather Post Pavilion, but Strawberry Jam is my personal favorite .
