I'm diggin' it. Shreds so much harder than anything off of the last album. Their most aggressive work since Doppelganger
| |
As soon as this came out, all I could do is smile
| |
Fuck yeah! Had no idea this came out today. Or was it a surprise?
| |
It's so gooooooood.
New TFOT now and Underoath tonight. It's gon be a good day.
| |
awe yis
| |
been jamming to this all morning, lots of fun
| |
*tapping intensifies*
Can't wait to hear this. Also, how cool is it of them to just put it out?
I'll just tell you how cool: really fucking cool.
| |
So far this fucking rules. Getting mad Doppelganger vibes.
| |
traack 2 rules hard
| |
YES.
| |
That was a very pleasent surprise
| |
I'm not normally into mathcore that much but damn this was great
| |
JAMS SO FUCKING HARD WE'RE FUCKING BACK BABY
| |
Can't wait to get home to hear this
| |
Awesome gesture.
| |
first half is p good, second half is quite lack luster with a slew of cornball lyrical moments. still awesome gesture [2]
| |
YES
| |
they're back to form
| |
vocals irk me so bad but the guitar parts are still nice
| |
^pretty much
| |
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAH
| |
Sweet, can't wait to jam
| |
Dem guitar riffs doe. Don't even care that the vocals are beyond awful.
| |
This album is just OK, but seriously great guitar work. The instrumentation is nicely balanced. This would for sure be in my top ten.
| |
That bridge riff in A Single Word, holy shit.
| |
"New TFOT now and Underoath tonight. It's gon be a good day."
You lucky son of a bitch.
| |
Dammit, the vinyl is out of stock. I was totally gonna get that ;_;
| |
Not too impressed with this, unfortunately. It's certainly much better than ITUE but that's about it.
| |
all of the nice riffs are ruined by the vocals. i appreciate that they did this tho, i guess
| |
the vocals were fine if you ask me
| |
This album slays.
| |
in the unlikely event that the fall of troy would return with a decent album
| |
wow
| |
WAIT WHAT
I'M HARD
| |
nothing wrong with the vox
| |
wanky guitar + shrill vocals + terrible art = the fall of troy
| |
still a better band than you are a user on this site
| |
"I laid my genitals on the cold bathroom tile today. It reminded me of the time I put them in grandmother's hand as life was leaving her body".
- torts
| |
your attempt at zany, unexpected humor is really poor and you should really log off
| |
honestly you're the one that should log off indefinitely
| |
what do you know about logging off, e-boy
| |
pots, bad user, doesn't like torts, bad user :000 lest us duel you fool!
| |
torts idk why you ever try to act like you're above like any other user on this site
also honestly i didnt even know people listened to this band outside of doppelganger really
| |
He's retorted.
| |
kman have you somehow missed the insane cult following the Ghostship demos have, or
| |
apparently so
| |
sweeeet im stoked, gonna listen to this stoned af
| |
i liked the ghostship demos back in the day quite a bit
| |
How was Phantom not as good as the ghostship demos?
| |
cos they over-produced the hell out of it and got rid that genuine feeling of unease the originals created, or somethin
| |
Downloading as we speak. I'm always a fan of free albums and it'll be my first listen to a complete album from them.
| |
Where should I start with these guys?
| |
Doppelganger
| |
I've always really loved POTH.
@bigpleb I would start Dopple, then POTH, then OK, then Manipulator, and finally Unlikely Event.
| |
or just dont listen to unlikely event at all
| |
really dont listen to this band at all tbh
| |
why would you listen to anything except the self-titled and doppelganger and maybe ghostship if youre feeling especially bored and have a lot of free time
| |
Not digging this much. The single is probably the best song on the album.
| |
album is kinda awful tbh
| |
are you sure that its not just OK?
| |
they haven't had a good song TITLE in eleven years
| |
What u mean f.3..s.3.f.t.h.t.e.r.ar.d.f.f.rremix isn't a good song title?
| |
idk, i think i like this. sometimes the vox are okay and other times they're grating but the instrumentals are tight af
| |
This is neat!
| |
Whoever asked where to start with this band, literally listen to their discography in order (including Ghostship Demos after the S/T) and quit before you get to In the Unlikely Event. I'd say this new record is optional as it's only 3-3.5 territory.
| |

| |
This is a good time.
| |
Instrumentally this album is awesome, but Tom's vocals are trash and the production all the way through the album is pretty shit, enough to make the listen kind of unenjoyable tbh
| |
"Rather than try to squeeze every penny from people who have given us opportunities beyond our wildest dreams, we wanted to give you a gift, for all the gifts you’ve given us over the years."
Then proceed to charge 5 dollars for FLAC version. The irony.
| |
Everyone hating on the clean vocals, but I think they provide the most memorable moments, short of a few unforgettable solos or moments of insanely fast guitar work. I really think the thing is elevated and made unique by the cleans.
| |
"Then proceed to charge 5 dollars for FLAC version. The irony."
are you trying to say that FLAC quality should be free
| |
The 320 version is free and for most people, that is perfectly fine
| |
Yeah, and if you're that much of an audiophile, $5 shouldn't be a big deal.
| |
prince is dead guys shut the heck up
| |
"Then proceed to charge 5 dollars for FLAC version. The irony."
fuck off dude. they are giving away the album and your bitching about this..
| |
Never listened to these guys before, but will have to check out now.
| |
Also their vocalist sounds like the bassist from Goo Goo Dolls.
| |
downloading now, stoked
| |
It was worth the price, honestly.
I didn't get the flac, or a bundle.
| |
why aren't there 3 reviews of this already?
| |
Are these guys that highly regarded around here?
| |
they are influential to say the least. I'm very surprised there's no reviews. I'm guessing the fact that it didn't leak has something to do with it too.
| |
I'm not a huge fan, but I used to jamake doppelganger and manipulator a fair bit. I wasn't too impressed with this, but people seem to like it.
| |
"Are these guys that highly regarded around here?"
Their first two records are very well loved among post-hardcore fans and they were definitely extremely influential to all of the mathy post-hardcore bands around today (Hail the Sun, A Lot Like Birds, etc.)
| |
Best way to enjoy this is to put a spoon on each eye to
BLOCK OUT ALL THE HATERS
On my tenth play-through and not slowing down anytime soon
| |
Vox are better than they used to be
| |
The screams, yeah.
| |
not on a single word, the vox are extremely inconsistent here
| |
