The Fall of Troy album available for free

2016-04-20 by Toondude | 89 Comments
As a gift to their dedicated fans, both old and new, The Fall of Troy have decided to release their new album, OK, completely free for download on their website. A statement on their website says:

Dear listener,

This album represents hope; that things can be different, that the past doesn’t have to always weigh on the present. We give this album to you now for free, because we know that you deserve it.

Rather than try to squeeze every penny from people who have given us opportunities beyond our wildest dreams, we wanted to give you a gift, for all the gifts you’ve given us over the years.

If you would like to support us further, you can do so through donating what you see fit, or by purchasing a vinyl or merch bundle. We look forward to seeing you this summer.
With endless love and gratitude,

-The Fall of Troy

OK is the band's first album in seven years since the band broke up in 2010.

Whoever asked where to start with this band, literally listen to their discography in order (including Ghostship Demos after the S/T) and quit before you get to In the Unlikely Event. I'd say this new record is optional as it's only 3-3.5 territory.

Everyone hating on the clean vocals, but I think they provide the most memorable moments, short of a few unforgettable solos or moments of insanely fast guitar work. I really think the thing is elevated and made unique by the cleans.

Their first two records are very well loved among post-hardcore fans and they were definitely extremely influential to all of the mathy post-hardcore bands around today (Hail the Sun, A Lot Like Birds, etc.)
