WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
| |
Was expecting a little more from this. Still hyped for Gore, however.
| |
Get in!
| |
Gonna be a grower not a show-er.
| |
Sounds cool, can't wait to hear the new album
| |
Sounds great. Coulda done without the girl randomly yelling the name of the radio show in the middle of the track tho.
| |
Sounded alright. Loved the guitar effects, but the chorus was a little weak.
| |
Can't wait to hear the rest.
| |
I hope it's the radio stream and not the production that sucks
| |
This is tight, stoked for the rest of the record
| |
That was a nice track. I really liked the rifts in the verses.
| |
New Thrice song sounds good. No? It's a Deftones b side from the mid 2000s? Hm, still good.
| |
song is better than 90% of koi
| |
World record!
This is a strange comparison, but this song sounds so much like Buddha for Mary from 30 Seconds to Mars first album. The vocal parts anyways. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei3ns8CJEik
| |
its not working wth
| |
stupid frigen apple music
| |
weird works for me and my comp sucks shit, also sup apollo bro
| |
its working now on the Tones website
sup dude
| |
The hook is so catchy omg.
| |
Does it rule tho?
| |
Of course.
| |
yeah official site upload sounds a bit better than the radio stream, for a coupla reasons
| |
track is posted here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAmt6zN9vOk
| |
At work so I can't hear now :[
| |
So pitted.
| |
song is kind of lame, honestly.
| |
Good song. Usually they put some more straight forward song near the beginning of their albums. Hopefully this is no different because while good, they can do better
| |
what a terrible chorus
| |
not impressed by this at all....Koi No Yokan was pretty average and I have a sinking feeling this will be much in the same vein
| |
Slaps
| |
so good
kinda has a SNW vibe to it
| |
Nah this is great
| |
Pretty average. Betting the album will be 100x's better
| |
"This is a strange comparison, but this song sounds so much like Buddha for Mary from 30 Seconds to Mars first album."
Yes it does. Weird.
| |
The youtube version sounds so much better than that radio clip
| |
"kinda has a SNW vibe to it"
i see that too. new albums gonna be amazing.
| |
I like it.
| |
very Saturday Night Wrist-y
great job!
| |
Definitely got a SNW vibe, even a little KNY. The way the track list for Gore stands as of now, this is the opening track. Diamond Eyes and Swerve City were both pretty simple openers on their last two albums, and this song feels the same imo.
| |
great song
| |
very underwhelming
| |
Just listen to the song off their website.
| |
I love this. I swear this guys never disappoint
| |
It's very solid, very pretty. Couldn't listen to it 'til now because college, but damn worth the wait. I got chills because it sort of has a Saturday Night Wrist meets Koi No Yokan vibe going on as stated above. Very nice. Am I the only one who's REALLY digging the potential album art? Them flamingos, man. Very fucking nice.
| |
Rules
| |
Yeah this is sweeeeet.
Sounds like a continuation of KNY and I'm perfectly ok with that.
| |
At first I hated the artwork, but it really grew on me.
| |
Pretty good song, but I have a feeling this isn't even a true highlight on the album. Stoked by the SNW vibe.
| |
Lots of potential here I like it. Sounds like a combo of SNW and KNY so album should be awesome.
| |
im gonna wait until the album comes out so i can just hear it all at once
| |
And it fucking rules.
| |
Not gonna listen to this again after this weekend. I don't want to wear it out so bad that when the rest of the album comes out I'm always skipping it.
| |
Not too shabby, as Koi was so damn forgettable. I'm really liking that clean guitar thingy during the verse.
| |
song has a cool vibe to it
some of the vocals are a bit annoying tbh
| |
So is this album going to be Eros or is it a completely new one?
| |
cant wait to 1 this
| |
The song is pretty good. Love the bass line.
| |
The vocals had a Palms feel to them which isn't a bad thing at all, that album is kind of underrated. The guitars were euphoric as always. Very promising first song

| |
"The vocals had a Palms feel to them"
so they sounded literally exactly the same as a deftones song?
chino is about the least versatile vocalist of all time
| |
Sorry didn't mean to double post. Well on the palms record they seemed a little more lazy with the cleans but not in a bad way.
| |
Gonna have to wait for the album mix cause the one on Youtube sounds odd–at least through my ear buds.
Good song otherwise, got me excited for the album.
| |
Such an overrated band
| |
As a newer Deftones fan coming after the last couple albums... More. Now.
I heard all the old stuff, if anyone asks.
| |
Gorgeous track.
| |
sounds great
| |
Sounds like something off SNW. Loved it
| |
Loving it!
| |
Can't wait to hate this.
| |
song is ok at best at first listen, does indeed sound a lot like thirty seconds to mars
| |
so fucking lush, dat artwork men i love it, this has a strong Xerces vibe to it
| |
Very cool song. White Pony being the only full-length I've heard from these guys, I'll have to jam their others now.
| |
The ending of the song is mindblowing.
| |
the structuring of this song is kind of annoying but it's cool i guess
| |
That one clean riff that comes in the first verse is mixed ridiculously loud and sounds out of place. The distortion made me jizz though.
| |
production also kinda sounds weak asf for them but hopefully that's just the stream
| |
It's a decent track. The chorus seems to flatline, and doesn't help the verse of the song. Either way,I sill have high hopes that Gore will not disappoint.
| |
For some reason I feel like I've already heard this
| |
lol song sucks calm the fuck down bros
| |
Awesome track... hyped as fuck now
| |
slaps. hope they go full shoegaze/dream pop on this album tbh
| |
"what a terrible chorus"
Thank god someone else agrees!
| |
i don't think it's terrible but it's not particularly flattering either...
| |
prayers = religion
Triangles = eye of providence
religion = Illuminati
------------------------------
Illuminati confirm
------------------------------
also, song is good
| |
yeah it's a good song, definitely not anything mind-blowing but it's nowhere near bad
should be another solid album
| |
Diamond Eyes was a killer opener, one of the best songs on the altogether stellar album. This is sort of mellow and there's not much change from the last one which is a shame.
| |
boring as piss by the numbers deftones. if this album's another koi no yokan, then i probably won't even check their next LP tbh.
| |
tempest was a good song just ask tempest
| |
good track but hoping for better.
| |
damn that chorus sounds like something off the latest bring me album lmaao
| |
Sounds an awful lot like Circa Survive.
| |
let's give a quick shoutout to tempest for not hesitating a lot about his username choice
| |
give it a rest. It's not funny when you have to constantly repeat yourself for people to get it when we already did get it
| |
dude i'm roasting him like on comedy central and shit
| |
explains why the delivery is so bad
| |
ok guys fuck you......
you don't want more? okay, man, you don't have to be an ass, like seriously i have feelings too
| |
fuck this album hasn't even come out yet and it still manages to ruin lives
| |
Nah it rules
| |
anyone else get a similar vibe to the warmth by incubus from this?
| |
I'll see how it goes in the album. this song's okay, but i got super hyped for Koi No Yokan which was a gigantic letdown
| |
i really like the percussion and time signatures on this
| |
Did he forget how to sing or something? The chorus is awful, sounds similar to Hole In The Earth
| |
Hole In The Earth is a good song, brah.
| |
"ok guys fuck you......
you don't want more? okay, man, you don't have to be an ass, like seriously i have feelings too"
Lmao
| |
booooring
| |
I feel this will probably end up being one of the weaker tracks on the album. This song is okay though, has some nice ambiance.
| |
I actually really love this now. The chorus is amazing and the bridge is very Saturday night wristish. It's one of my favorite deftones singles now.
| |
i said i was gonna wait but i got too curious. song is pretty good, ill have to keep re-listening to it.
| |
Hole In The Earth is a good song, brah. [2]
| |
it's also been on spotify for a day or two if you wanna check it there.
Wasn't blown away but it's a solid deftones song. Kind of a weird choice of song to release first though, if you wanted people to buy your album this isn't the song you should lead with. It doesn't invoke that much feeling in either direction.
| |
love this song on third listen
| |
sounds like SNW b-side...and that is not a bad thing at all. super excited for Gore
| |
this grew on me...slightly...
| |
http://pitchfork.com/news/63363-deftones-make-fun-of-kanye-while-detailing-new-album-gore/
lol
| |
"this grew on me...slightly..."
deftones songs tend to do dat
| |
I like the track alright. I just don't really like the way chino's yelling sounds near the middle and end. His yells have always been hit or miss since WP for me.
| |
http://pitchfork.com/news/63363-deftones-make-fun-of-kanye-while-detailing-new-album-gore/
lol
haha! lol
| |
"I like the track alright. I just don't really like the way chino's yelling sounds near the middle and end. His yells have always been hit or miss since WP for me."
that's strange, i think his screams are very consistent. in fact, i would say royal has his best scream ever
| |
This is growing on me more than slightly, as Deftones songs are wont to do.
| |
very tame tbh
| |
real talk this sucks.
| |
I liked the song better when I first heard the instrumental teaser, but Chino's vocals feel like they're dragging the track down... I'll still keep hope for this, but I don't think it's gonna beas good as their other post-WP records
| |
album art is terrible
| |
Grown off me a bit tbh.
| |
I've never really cared for this song that much but the amount of hate that such a straightforward song is getting is unfathomable lmao
It's a perfectly fine song
| |
Gonna give the new song a few more spins before I make my mind up.
I liked that delayed guitar arpeggio tho, great tone.
| |
album art is terrible [2]
| |
Finally listened to this new track, can't wait for the new album.
| |
"that's strange, i think his screams are very consistent. in fact, i would say royal has his best scream ever"
Yeah I know I'm in a small minority on this. Ive never heard anyone else bring it up. Royal has alright screams to me but there are other tracks like ratsratsrats that I just don't care for the screams at all. They sound very forced and far more high pitched than previous albums. That said I enjoyed the screams in KNY even if there were very few.
| |
According to Wikipedia, this is going to be the opening track. I'm glad to hear - "Swerve City" didn't cut it as an opener last time around, possibly my least favorite track by them
| |
lol
there's always one i guess
| |
pink cellphone is def worse than swerve city tho.
| |
I liked the song better when I first heard the instrumental teaser, but Chino's vocals feel like they're dragging the track down... [2]
The instrumentals were really good in that teaser.
| |
this track has grown on me. chino's vox still could of been better tho
| |
This is Gore's opening track and Deftone's openers are traditionally pretty straight forward. With that in mind I say this is easily their best opener since hole in the earth or hexagram. Personally I love the chorus, hopefully I don't wear out the track before the album hits.
SNW is without a doubt my fave album by them, I really hope they retread that albums supremely beautiful and experimental footsteps. KNY was pretty good, there was a nice consistent sound throughout the album but none of the songs I think deviated from the standard verse/chorus structure and I lost interest in the songs pretty quickly. All the songs pretty much were slightly different takes on the same idea, was a bit too straightforward of an album for me to adore it.
| |
^ brought this up in the snw thread i believe. chino said that he's connected with more depeche mode songs than any other band
| |
they've already covered like 3 haven't they
don't think they're gonna go that literal with it, but dm are one of my favorite bands so i certainly wouldn't be opposed to it
| |
we flip the scrip'
| |
I've only listened to this song twice and I already have that chorus melody stuck in my head. Not even as incredible as anything off of Diamond Eyes, or Koi No Yokan, but still pretty stoked for this album.
| |
Not to bad pretty relaxing and mellow.
| |
