Hopefully better than that last album. That album was DISTURBEDing.
| |
yeah apart from like two songs the last album was shit
this song is okay though. nothing special, vocals are alright and the main riff is pretty meh.
| |
Trivium pulling an Opeth with poor results? We shall see.
| |
Vengeange Falls was a godawful piece of trash that was utterly ruined by Draiman.
According to youtube nerds this song apparently was originally from the Shogun sessions, but was left off the record--making it pretty much a b-side from that record. They probably changed the vocal style since then but it's still kinda lulzy given this is supposed to be a thrash/metalcore band.
| |
Is that the real album art
| |
Real album art is the white skull with horns, the picture with the chick would've been an awkward album cover
| |
"The album is being produced by Michael Baskette, who was known for producing albums with Slash and Alter Bridge."
im literally rubbing my hands together in glee
| |
Song is meh, quite disappointing, hope it will grow
| |
The chorus is actually really good
| |
Fanboy here. If the rest of the album is half as good it'll still blow VF out of the water and I loved VF too. Really impossible for them to let me down so lets have it boys.
| |
Wake and Incineration were the only good songs off of VF IMO
| |
Speaking of Vengeance Falls, am I the only one who can dig No Way to Heal off that record? I thought that was a good song, all things considered, but maybe it's just me.
This track sounded alright.
| |
I couldn't get into that song, VF is just so uninspiring to me, it made In Waves feel fresh
| |
This is honestly the worst the band has ever sounded, and I forced myself to make it through Vengeance Falls.
| |
Like holy shit this is bad.
| |
Never checked out the last record but I really enjoyed In Waves.
| |
Almost has a Scandinavian rock vibe to it, which is no bad thing at all. Plus Heafy's vocal delivery sounds more disciplined and controlled. The change sounds pretty welcoming after their last misfire.
I'd consider doing a review when this comes out.
| |
So boring holy crap
| |
artwork sucks ass, song is alright
| |
kinda liked the vocals but the song leaves a bit to be desired
| |
album artwork is so bad
song not so much
| |
Just in case you guys don't know, the guitar chick isn't the album cover. The actual artwork is the skull mask thing-a-ma-bob on a white field. Simple yet interesting design in its affinitive tone.
And beside, don't judge a book by its cover and so on.

And here she is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silence_in_the_Snow#Silence_in_the_Snow_.282015.E2.80.93present.29
| |
this band is still going eh
| |
"Featuring much more singing compared to their previous albums."
Ugh, so another post-Shogun album clone
| |
@Ikarus well tbh, it's not that much better
@bloc apparently this song was written while they were doing Shogun
| |
Damn, it would've easily been the low point on that album
| |
song is slowly starting to grow on me, though I'm still put off by the Siren Charms sounding opening riff.
| |
I liked Vengeance Falls and I like this new single. I think everything Trivium has put out since Ascendancy has been solid and I give them credit for doing what they want to do.
| |
shogun is the only album i can say i somewhat like by these guys...
song is pretty boring tbh
| |
lol
| |
@Toondude10: Well, to be honest it's so much better.
Fixed it.
| |
still a pretty dumb cover
| |
The fact that it's basically modern era In Flames but somehow even more boring tells you exactly the career direction these guys have taken since Shogun (which had its moments).
| |
Since I'm apparently one of the few people here who isn't a knuckle dragging, drool water-falls who automatically hates anything related to David Draiman / Disturbed, I LIKED the last album. That said? This sounds even better. I'm stoked.
| |
I still hope this isn't a B-side album
| |
Sounds super boring. We don't need another radio hard rock band -_-
| |
I would be B-side myself if they did that
L.O.L. !!
| |
booooooooooo
| |
It's a lot funnier if you read it out loud
| |
Shogun or bust
| |
Butt metal
| |
Shogun was a fantastic album, everything afrer has been kinda crap
| |
hahahaha
| |
Sounds pretty good to me. Not Shogun or Ascendancy level yet, but quite enjoyable. Obviously a lot better than most stuff on Vengeance Falls, that album was a serious mistake (2 good songs, 2 decent songs and the rest was pretty much Draiman inspired crap, coupled with a dreadful production job). This is already shaping up to be a lot better, so count me in.
| |
The first three songs on VF were strong. Everything just falls apart after that.
As said before, this song shows an interesting change in style and tone over all. The song itself is good if not stellar, but there's bound to be stronger material when released.
Also, I want that skull on the cover as a mask for Halloween. Can we get a petition or kickstarter for this?
| |
I still say In Waves is an underrated gem. Is it their best? No, but I thought it was a very good album.
| |
[2]
| |
You'd think that they would at least try and sound like they were making an effort.
| |
The people calling this good probably don't realize that it sounds like it would be one of the worst tracks on Siren Charms and that really says a lot.
| |
honestly, about 80% of Siren Charms is worse than this
| |
I dunno, this is somehow even more bland
| |
"According to lead singer Matt Heafy, the album represents a drastic change in sound, featuring much more singing compared to their previous albums."
Good. His screaming is annoying as shit and he actually has a great singing voice here. If the rest of the album sounds like this it will be good.
| |
Nah, that chorus is terrible...
| |
"I still say In Waves is an underrated gem. Is it their best? No, but I thought it was a very good album."
Agreed. Even with two bad apples in the track list it's still really consistent and musically straight forward. The latter proves its greatest strength, so In Waves is one of my favorites along with Shogun.
| |
this is pretty poor, used to be a huge ascendancy fan back in the day but the band has only gone down since then bar Shogun
| |
this sounds really boring and uninspired. I expect way better from these guys.
Using all clean vocals is cool, thats not the problem, the songwriting just isn't there.
| |
Love the drums ,other than that the song is meh ...
It's a shame Nick left the band . He was a great drummer IMO
BTW , considering the last 2 slash 's albums were pure trash and Alter Bridge is an alternative rock band , I'm not sure this album is going to keep the Metal shound of Trevuim . This song just prove my point . It's a real shame...
| |
Alter Bridge has always been alt rock, well alt metal now but you say that like it's a bad thing.
| |
It's not a bad thing . I love Alter Bridge . I just thing Trevium should keep the current sound and not change it ....
| |
Slash's last two albums were solid. His last one was just a little too long is all.
| |
its like these dudes arent even trying anymore
| |
The singing is great but yeah overall the song is so boring and so cheesy, they can do more than this.
| |
literally the most cliche breakdown imaginable haha
| |
No good riffs, they need more riffs in the vein of In Waves
| |

| |
I miss travis. From what I understand he was a huge ass to work with. The shogun songs were also too hard to play live as well.
| |
really weak and cheesy breakdown, but the rest was actually quite good. I enjoyed the clean singing quite a bit. nice range and control. also an alter bridge sound can't be a bad thing...so let's wait and see.
| |
well alter bridge is a great band anyways
| |
so apparently Ihsahn wrote the opening track for this album.
| |
it's probably going to be some instrumental or something
| |
yeah, it's described as a "cinematic, orchestral" take on the melody of the title track.
| |
I am undeniably, unashamedly digging the shit out of this track.
I can't quite put my finger on it, because the verses have that same Disturbed-esque edge that made VF so weak, but I just can't get enough of it.
Damn good solo too.
| |
this shit has grown on me. damn
| |
at least they're doing more +6 minute songs again
| |
I didn't like the song at first, but this one is really a grower, I love Matt's vocals!
| |
This song reminds me of Evergrey's A Touch Of Blessing in more than a couple ways. If the whole album more or less follows an Inner Circle vibe I'll be ecstatic.
| |
"this shit has grown on me. damn"
+1
got stuck in my head. I'm liking it a lot now

What can I say? It grew on me. Album is shaping up to be pretty damn good; second single rips.
| |
Not really my style but I liked the second song about a million times better than the first
| |
