Riverside release single

Polish proggers Riverside have released the lyric video for 'Discard Your Fear' off their highly anticipated upcoming album Love, Fear And The Time Machine. The album is set to be released on the 4th of September via Inside Out Music and Mystic Production.

Vocalist/bassist Mariusz Duda commented on the album and song saying:

“On the new album I wanted to combine the 70’s and the 80’s. The 80’s were a decade of musical growing up for me. I remember being enchanted by music deep with bass, chorus and all kinds of reverb. ‘Discard Your Fear’ is a good example of this flow. The lyrics are about the most popular kind of fear that touches most of us – the fear of the unknown.”

Not one of their best, but I still like it. I'm sure it will grow on me the more I listen to it.

Sounds like their attempt at a radio friendly song. But either way, I'm liking it thankfully

This is a nice track, but an average one within their discography in my opinion.

It's got the groove though, but the drumming is pretty bland

Mariusz's vocal work is the only genuinely excellent thing about this song in my opinion.

I always feel like they could/should be doing better than their actual output -_____-

I like the bass groove and Mariusz' vocals, but this feels a bit too repetitive for a 7-minute track, especially without a proper instrumental break. I'm still interested in the album though.

It's definitely lacking something that is able to catch you off-guard.
Maybe it will evoke its potential in the context of the album.

from that intro, I half-expected the lyrics to begin "oh, it's opening time down on Fascination Street".
