I vote his first album be called "Splish Splash"
| |
I guess they weren't... Immortal.
k bye
| |
meh. this band was never consistent anyways.
| |
good riddance
| |
Knew it would happen, at least it didn't end up like Queensryche where there was two versions of the band.
| |
I wasn't very surprised about this when I heard it, but it's a shame.
| |
jamming the first 3 albums + At the Heart Of Winter in memoriam now. damn.
| |
unfortunate
| |
Awwww what? So basically it's Gorgoroth all over again. Dangit.
| |
Black metal's Saturday morning cartoon is off-the-air. It's sad. I actually kind of like these guys. haha
Saw them live the last time they came through the states. It was a fun show.
| |
Wtf?! This is awful :[
Jamming SOND now in memory m/
| |
the most frostbitten and grim of RIPs
| |
"meh. this band was never consistent anyways."
Blasphemy.
| |
Not consistent.....? Really?
| |
das news ist nicht krieg.
| |
Oh well, solid discography they left behind.
| |
Literally one of the most consistent bands in black metal. They sometimes took a few years between releases but the music was always solid.
| |
^Agreed. Discog is consistently great.
| |
Blizzard Beasts is the only album that's a bit mediocre, but other than that they're all great.
| |
Bummer, these guys made some pretty kickass albums.
| |
Yeah I kinda saw this coming though so I'm not really surprised. Still sucks.
| |
Literally one of the most consistent bands in black metal.[2]
| |
sucky, but i'm excited to hear Abbath's debut. curious as to what it'll sound like.
probably Immortal. which is fine by me
| |
Didn't really love the last Immortal record but I will obviously give his new record a shot.
| |
Yeah will jam that Abbath record.
| |
Literally one of the most consistent bands in black metal.[3]
| |
Well this sucks
| |
Terrible news. 'Sons Of Northern Darkness' is one of my 2 favorite black metal albums ever. Damn.
| |
Sons is a classic yeah.
| |
It's been six years since they've released any new material. Let's hear some tunes, Abbath!
| |
The solo material probably won't sound much different from Immortal, looking forward to hearing it
| |
looks like deafheaven will have to fill their spot
| |
Immortal were the last of the good 90's BM bands that still played straight up BM. Darkthrone play heavy metal (which is still awesome), Mayhem make experimental BM and Emperor are gone.
The end of an era.
| |
meh nothing really lost as these guys were long past doing anything worthwhile
| |
Immortal was one of the first black metal bands I ever listened to, and I *just* said to a friend last week, "Man, I can't wait for another Immortal record."
Well, shit.
| |
I should probably give these guys more of a shot, any suggestions on where to start? I'd prefer whatever's considered their best album since their most recent stuff never really did it for me
| |
pure holocaust
| |
Talons, I think the generally considered top album for them is At The Heart of Winter, but I can vouch for Sons of Northern Darkness and Pure Holocaust being fuckin awesome as well. I prefer Sons myself.
| |
Sons or At the Heart of Winter would be best to start with for sure. Then jam Pure Holocaust and Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism.
| |
Pure Holocaust is by far their best
| |
& don't let the album cover fool you, battles destroys serious ass.
| |
Don't let any of the album covers fool you, they look stupid as shit in most cases but the music is sweet.
| |
haha will do, their image is pretty hilarious. It even got that All Shall Fall song to go viral online lol
| |
Their image is cheesy and so awesome at the same time tbh.
| |
damn shame
| |
Damned in Black is so good.
| |
They did?! YASSSSS
| |
They reunited awhile ago and are in the process of creating an album sans Abbath.
| |
But band is without Abbath?
| |
