Rise Against finish new album

Yesterday, Punknews.com reported that Rise Against have posted the title and a status update from the studio as they continue to work on their next full length. The album is titled The Sufferer & The Witness are hoping for a June release. The band also had this to say:

"We did about fifteen songs ( i think, it's all a blur now ) and we're pretty excited about it. Working at The Blasting Room again has been the perfect experience and colloborating with Bill again has really brought some of our songs to life the way he brought RPM to life.

We had Chad from Drag The River/ALL and Emily from Holy Roman Empire sing all over the record which was awesome. Before we left, we ran into the Thursday guys in town and took them for some scooter rides, played each other our new stuff, and co-erced them to sing some youth crew vox... The band will be playing three "exclusive" and sold out shows in LA this May. From May 16th through the 18th, the band will be performing at the Troubadour with Strike Anywhere and a rotating opening band. Bands occupying the rotating opening slot include Authority Zero, Love Equals Death and The Blackout Pact."

The band has also indicated plans to tour internationally in the fall, after their Warped Tour jaunt.

The album is the follow up to 2004's Siren Song of the Counter Culture.

The group also recently reissued their 2001 debut, The Unravelling and their single "Swing Life Away" spent more than twenty weeks on the Billboard Modern Rock singles chart.

Kind of makes me sad. This album was great and nothing afterwards was even close.
