Dustin Kensrue enters studio

2014-11-14 by TenSecondsToThink | 22 Comments
Dustin Kensrue has finally found the time to record the follow-up to 2007's Please Come Home. The new album is set to be released in spring 2015 on Staple Records/Vagrant Records.

"Recording right now is for me the end of a long distilling process. I always have bits and pieces of songs that are bouncing around in my head. I usually record them and listen back later, and most of the time I can’t remember why I even bothered to record them in the first place. But then there are the tunes that stick – the ones I find running over and over through my head, demanding to be finished. Begging for a home. The most persistent of these tunes from the past 8 years are what I’m busy recording right now, and there’s nothing I’d rather be doing" - DK

His solo stuff is always interesting... I even enjoyed his worship album, although Please Come Home was more of my thing.

Wasn't the Water and the Blood the follow-up to Please Come Home? Or are those technically considered
separate projects, since they definitely had different vibes...

So stoked. Water and the blood was a worship album for Mars hill church.
I think Dustin also resigned from Mars hill recently after exposing corruption in the church. Maybe new Thrice soon?

Yeah I was hoping that was going to lead to new Thrice myself... looks like not right away.

(2) Such an amazing song. This guy almost has it right. He's just looking in the wrong direction.

Uh? This guy can be a buddhist for all that I care, I'm just glad he is still making music. But yeah The Water & The Blood was pretty meh...

maybe some new Thrice is on the way? at least i god damn hope so. Dustin's solo stuff is good, but not as good as Thrice. Although 'It's not enough' is pretty great.

Love Thrice, but his solo accomplishments are futile.
