its also the first single off the LP and theyre releasing a vid for it in a bit and blah blah blah
anyway i think its brilliant . reminded me gandhi mate at first because it seemed all over the place but i just listened to it over and over and its actually pretty simply structured
| |
S'alright
| |
BLASPHEMER
| |
Fuck me, that was bland.
| |
man these guys need to get crazy again and drop song structure
| |
Its alright, at least they're not doing this overly political junk again. More like Take To The Skies pls.
| |
Take To The Skies had songs about global warming mate
| |
I was expecting something more akin to the rat race ep
| |
This was great
| |
Yeah but it also had songs about condoms and video games, I want more of that
| |
"but it also had songs about condoms and video games"
lol which songs are you referring to?
| |
Johnny Sniper condoms anyways, and Labyrinth/Return to energiser I believe
| |
interesting youve linked condoms with johnny sniper when theyve stated its about the environment but ok
| |
wow, it's so upbeat.... and it doesn't even sound like them mostly.
A little too upbeat for me :/
| |
they normally have strong singles but i'm hoping this is just gonna be one which isn't like the rest of the album
| |
wow i thought for once this was an enter shikari everyone was gonna get behind and even choccy doesnt lke it
| |
Parts sound really good, others sound really cheerful and weird
| |
yeah, i'm just not into this kind for cheerfulness and i didn't even realise I was listening to them at the start. I'm still hopeful for the new album cos Anaesthetist has really grown on me recently
| |
'interesting youve linked condoms with johnny sniper when theyve stated its about the environment but ok'
Saw them live in 2007 and they threw condoms into the crowd as they played an extended intro to johnny sniper. There was a speech to go along with it too, don't remember it though.
| |
i guess they link condoms with the environment somehow then??????? i dunno man ES are a weird band
| |
Pretty solid... never got that into these guys, what's a good place to start? They seem pretty prolific.
| |
@Beachdude Rat race EP, definitely.
| |
@Choccy Yeah I thought it was weird that a 4-song EP was their highest rated release on here... are they just really inconsistent?...
| |
id say its more that the majority of the ratings on that ep are from people who already like es. if it had the same amount of votes their lps have it would be a bit lower
| |
Ah I see... well I'm enjoying Rat Race quite a bit, so I might check out all their full lengths to get caught up.
| |
After that, I recommend working chronologically but if you don't like Take to The Skies, listen to A Flash Flood of Colour. That's how I got into them
| |
Cool, will do
| |
fucking hell though, i am seriosuoly the only one who thinks this one of their best, i mean i know im a fanboy but still this seemed like a track that everyone else would like aswell
| |
Seriously? There are bits that I like, but even those moments aren't among their best
| |
ok track. the chorus is kind of cheesy but that's to be expected from these guys
| |
let's take to the skies again pls boys. this stuff is totally pedestrian.
| |
I really dig this.
| |
I dig heaps, will always be a sucker for ES tho
| |
sounds pretty sweet, can't wait to hear the whole album
| |
are these guys ever gonna have good production
| |
Theyve had dan weller from sikth doing it since their second album i think so take it up with him betray
| |
This is good
| |
Production is rubbish. Drums are barely there.
| |
great song!
| |
"Drums are barely there. "
lol fucking what
you can clearly hear the drums. if anything the guitar and bass are drowned out a bit but thats all i notice
| |
I actually like this
| |
I can't hear the fuck off
| |
i love ES, but i'm honestly not very impressed with this. it just feels underwhelming, all around. i like the electronics well enough, and Rou sounds good, like always, but they're both worse than usual, and nothing else here is even relatively impressive. it's all just flaccid.
let's take to the skies again pls boys. this stuff is totally pedestrian. [2]
| |
Good song
| |
the heavy parts are good, the upbeat parts are shit
| |
"the heavy parts are good, the upbeat parts are shit"
yeah
| |
Got it. This reminds me of "no sleep tonight", which was another song I didn't like because of how upbeat it is.
CD was a good album though, so I'm hoping this will be like that
| |
Pretty average
| |
The upbeat sou d of this is what i like the most, its really refresshing for an es song
| |
Video is not available, damnit
| |
Not available in Canada.
| |
Good shit. I dig the upbeat chorus, they've done stuff like this before but it still feels fresh.

| |
ah, fuck it. it's grown on me some. it's no Destabilise or anything, though.
| |
In ES standards this is actually okay. Fucking awful band though.
| |
This is pretty damn sweet.
| |
" Fucking awful band though."
shut your whore mouth
| |
lol wtf is this?
| |
Your great, everything about you is great, your greatness is consistent in itself, imvu
| |
Band fucking blows Mort. Never got how they did well.
| |
dude my ratings
why do you hurt me like this?
| |
Nothing outstanding here. Different parts of the song don't seem to fit together. Also too much doodledo. I think Enter Shikari are best when they hit it hard instead of making that doodledoo-stuff like on Juggernauts. So much unused potential there.
| |
Partially agreed there ^
It works sometimes, just not all the time and not here, sadly
| |
