For some reason I can never get Pitchfork streams to work - still, very excited for this album

"ex-screamo band"
rip
|
| |
hoping this is still good
|
| |
it's better the second time
|
| |
You'll be seeing my two cents on this soon.
|
| |
Looking forward to reading all the "no skramz?!" comments.

ex-screamo band
smd
|
| |
"Upon first listen, it sounds like the band have completely ditched their screamo roots for a more emotional, and refined post-rock sound, with some nice melodies thrown in the mix for good
measure."
Shouldn't be in a news article. The part about ditching the scramz is fact but the rest is a personal opinion. There is no place for opinions and first impressions in a news article.

Absolutely loved "Repine" and "Late Lives", but man..after my first listen Im not just not sure. Its so incredibly slow the entire time, very hard to stay focused and not get bored. Really enjoyed the closer though
|
| |
not digging this too much so far. the 'refined sound' isn't grabbing me at all. sounds pretty average, maybe 3/5 range but I guess it
could grow
|
| |
good lord game eat a shit
who cares, its just a nice little bit on what the stream sounds like to so far to the writer of the article
id prefer some personality in our articles than just
PIANOS HAVE RELEASED THEIR STREAM TODAY
|
| |
I liked Repine a lot but Late Lives didn't leave much of an impression on me, so I'm curious to hear the whole thing
|
| |
^^^
|
| |
I'm really enjoying this. tbh I could never get into them much before. It was always too impossible for me to follow the lyrics and I never took the time to let it really hit me.
|
| |
Pretty great so far. Dude has a great voice.
|
| |
I hope it's better on the second listen because that was pretty underwhelming.
|
| |
This seriously reminds me of more recent MovMou so much.
|
| |
excellent direction. Very, very happy with this after first listen.
|
| |
So slow. And so bland. Disappointed as fuck. Are these the same guys who did the lack long after?
|
| |
My most hyped album of the year, so I'm hoping this doesn't disappoint considering how much I loved Repine.
|
| |
the last song is so good
|
| |
pitchfork streams don't work on my goddamn computer
|
| |
use a student browser
|
| |
This reminds of Moving Mountains s/t. Matter of fact both bands started with a post-hardcore sound and then went softer with each release.
|
| |
Man I think this is really good
|
| |
The LackLuster After
|
| |
That ex- remark seems needlessly dramatic to me.
|
| |
every song has the exact same sound and mood
|
| |
yeah not liking this at all tbh. it's 'nice' but damn the energy is sorely missed
|
| |
every song has the exact same sound and mood
so did everything on tlla
|
| |
this is fucking amazing
|
| |
"This reminds of Moving Mountains s/t. Matter of fact both bands started with a post-hardcore sound and then went softer with each release."
Not really considering MovMou's most post-hardcore release is Waves by far.
Pneuma - Emo
Foreword - Post-Rock
Waves - Post-hardcore
Self-titled - Some indie soft shit like this

There is no place for opinions and first impressions in a news article [2]
|
| |
'Enamor Me' rules! Stream is kinda annoying though with all the videos and stuff. Not that I watch them, but it's just too much.
|
| |
"There is no place for opinions and first impressions in a news article [2]"
well then your an idiot
|
| |
What the hell's your problem, Mort? It makes a lot of sense that a news article- meant to be objectively written- probably shouldn't have someone's needless opinion in it
|
| |
just the facts ma'am
|
| |
because otherwise this site would bore the tits off me, id rather have some information on what the music
sounds like and a nice little opinion than some bland recounting of facts
the news articles are more interesting with a bit of flair, personality, style, flavour etc
i get disliking the silly article titles, but not the writing that actually makes this news article a
slightly more interesting read
|
| |
Yeah man, I actually do get that despite my flippant response to ya
And i agree with that principle. I will say, though, that I think peoples' reactions to this were pretty
reasonable- this article could've covered the same info in a much more appropriate manner. Not that I see it
as even a remotely big deal in the grand scheme of things but hey
On a side note I am excited to review this
|
| |
Settle it over Smash!
|
| |
dude u should buy me both a 3ds and the new smash game and im so fucking down
|
| |
haha. Unfortunately, I don't really have time for video games anymore. I did buy a Wii just for Smash Bros.
Brawl back when it came out.
|
| |
Idk it just doesn't read like the neutral voice it needs to be. I just don't like it like that.
If you have a shit for me to eat I'll take it
|
| |
via pitchfork
yea this is gonna blow
|
| |
"If you have a shit for me to eat I'll take it"
*throws shit over oceans and countries, through a window into games mouth*
|
| |
game has a window into his mouth? i am jealous, i want one of these
|
| |
I always considered the opening to my mouth to be more like a black hole really
|
| |
really disappointing. i like softer emo stuff a lot but this is pretty boring (only listened to 3 songs but still) and while his clean vocals aren't really "bad" i'm just not a fan of his singing voice for some reason, which is weird because i love his heavier vocals but his cleans just bug me for some reason.
|
| |
really disappointed with this release tbh
|
| |
so yeah, the new Gates album is better than this
|
| |
Post-skramzrock
|
| |
Album is boring as hell, honestly. No innovation whatsoever and it just drags on and on and on.
