Troldhaugen stream new album

Australian avant-garde folk metal band Troldhaugen are streaming their new album Obzkure Anekdotez For Maniakal Massez at their official Bandcamp page.

Troldhaugen's sophomore effort was released on August 27 through The Bird's Robe Collective.

This album is one of the best things I have listened to in quite a while.

These guys are totally nuts and musical genre hopping geniuses at the same time.

I definitely prefer Dog Fashion Disco to this as far as genre-hopping music is concerned, but to each his own.

I'm streaming Committed To A Bright Future [the only Dog Fashion Disco album available] on Spotify right now, they sound great, but in my humble opinion, DFD do not match the Aussies in terms of intensity, complexity and songwriting.

I haven't listened to their 2014 album (SC link in the news section is not working, sadly) but Dog Fashion Disco seem to be more rock-ish, whereas the foundations of Troldhaugen lie in extreme metal.

Speaking of Aussie prog metal bands, I know only a handful of them and they are all excellent and very different the one from the other.
