Australian progressive-metal band Ne Obliviscaris revealed via Facebook that their new album, Citadel, is set for release on November 7 (AUS)/11th (US) through Season of Mist. The band seems very happy with the final result, having stated that "Citadel is everything we ever envisioned this band could one day become".

Finally.

Wonder why they didn't provide this as one of the prizes for their kickstarter though.

Probably because the Kickstarter thing wasn't exactly well-thought out. Pretty much everyone
complained about how they ran it. I gave $30 for a lyrics sheet though anyway. This ought to be
really cool.

They've got violins and clean singing! It was just a step away from Saor :P I went through the news
articles to see what that event was all about and totally jumped on it. I don't feel like seeing any
more awesome bands get big before I get on the wagon.

album art's cool. Portal of I wore off a bit so hopefully their sophomore release doesn't fall into that same trap

Looking forward to this. Hopefully with this record they've done away with a lot of the pretentiousness that brought down Portal of I.

they just need to adress a few writing missteps and bloating issues and they could release a classic

Really eager for this, their debut grew off me a lot but they definitely have the potential to release something spectacular

Debut was flawed but "Forget Not" is one of the best prog metal songs ever. Hope to see something on here that rivals that.

I didn't see much wrong with the production on Portal of I. In fact, I thought it was pretty good.

It's not bad so much as it is disappointing. The super clean production works in some respects, but I feel that they could really push their sound to the next level with production that brings the best out of every aspect of their sound.

Looking forward to this. Loved almost everything about Portal of I, I'd be happy if they released something similar but with a bit more black metal influence. I doubt that'll happen, and they'll move towards a more prog angle, but I can hope.

Excited for this, even if nothing comes close to that song. Even at almost 70 minutes, "Portal of I" left me wanting more

The only decent song of Portal was Tapestry, so hopefully the new one will be a bit more consistent

Xenoflux and Plague are really sweet, but the other songs sorta blend into each other. The rerecorded tracks are inferior to the originals except for Icicles cuz the vocals are more restrained and not as corny.

Freaking love "Icicles." The riffs in the second half are awesome, but not in the buzzy, random way a lot of black metal riffs sound.

A lot can change in people's tastes in 2 years especially considering
that a lot of people back then thought it was the best black metulz evar
which speaks volumes in itself. Also the novelty of zomg violins in metal
prolly wore off in that time
