didn't realize this was coming up so quick, swee
| |
Does it count as streaming that deserves an article when it's literally the release date?
| |
why not? especially considering the first comment
| |
Fire to the ocean rules hard
| |
AHHHH THIS CAME OUT TODAY AND I DIDNT KNOW IT
| |
foxxy listen to it and tell me how good it is
| |
getting this now
| |
I guess quite a few people are just now realizing this is being released today. Fair enough
| |
not as good as mandala on first listen but still solid release
| |
Hmmm I have never listened to these guys but I just bought tickets to their show the other day because they are on tour with The Dear Hunter.
| |
Man they're gonna be here a week from tomorrow and I can't go :[
I love RxB and The Dear Hunter have 2 or 3 really good albums so i'm missing out hard
| |
^ Where are you from? I plan on seeing them in Columbus.
| |
1995 is like the best song red hot chili peppers never wrote
| |
Feather, I highly recommend you listen to And the Battle Begun and Mandala right now
| |
Thats what I have been doing all day. I really enjoy these guys. Glad I saw this news post or else the first time hearing them would have been live.
| |
That wouldn't have been so bad because they fucking kill it live
| |
This band is dead to me.
| |
What a coincidence
you've also been dead to me since you butchered your username, adam :]
| |
adam you suck this year go to sleep
| |
Happened last year. I saw their Resignation set and was bored to tears.
| |
Lies. Their Resignation tour was 10/10 one of the best shows I've ever seen
| |
I traded a record for my ticket and I still feel ripped off
| |
I traded money for my ticket and I would have paid more
| |
I don't know how I feel about this...Album cover's kinda cool, though.
| |
I am blown away so far
| |
Really like it so far, especially Wide Open.
| |
My one nitpick is that the cymbals are not mixed very well
| |
Haven't listened to the whole thing yet, and what I listened to was solid and fun, but the lack of variety was already starting to bore me. I was really hoping for something as great as Mandala.
| |
There really don't seem to be many stand out tracks and it all sort of flies by. It's good but it's not what I've come to expect from these guys. I love their guitar tone though, always delicious
| |
It's pretty solid. Takes a couple spins to settle in. Not as in your face as their last two albums.
| |
I've loved every song so far even the intro is cool
and yeah i like the subtlety, the drumming in particular has mellowed a bit
| |
Embre has become one of my favorite vocalists. The guys got swag.
| |
got this when i saw them live with The Dear Hunter on sunday. incredible show! i swear rxb played for like 2 1/2 hours. new album is fucking awesome, as expected
| |
probably gonna review this
| |
Do it
| |
really great album! i'm just getting into this guys which records would you recommend?
| |
@Eldar
go with either The Resignation or and the Battle Begun, they're good starters.
then, if you really enjoyed songs like the more ska-sounding stuff (like "Apparition" or "Taking Chase As The Serpent Slithers")
go with Progress or Halfway bewteen there and here. that's their earlier more ska-based sound. for an idea of what that era
was like, try: "Babylon".
but if you enjoyed the heavier or proggier sounding stuff (like "1980", "Crushing Destroyer" or "Decrescendo") go with
Mandala. that was their last one before this album and kind of headed to a heavier, prog-influenced sound (if you liked The
Mars Volta but wished for less fluff, this is for you) try "Bled to be free" to get an idea.
| |
*Halfway between here and there. sorry
| |
Thanks a lot!
I should probably go with their later stuff, not a big fun of ska, but their proggy side is awesome
| |
Sounds like Mandala is your best bet. I would suggest working your way backwards from there and listening to And The Battle Begun, The Resignation, etc. so that you can acquire a taste for the ska-influenced stuff. They're a fantastic band, I hope you enjoy them!
| |
Already do!
| |
album is really good! =)
| |
Anyone just getting into this band, I would recommend starting with Resignation or Battle and then moving to Mandala. The rest of their records might as well not exist, though Progress is arguable.
| |
Will You Be Tomorrow is just great
| |
Yeah the middle section is the best part of the whole thing, Penguin Marlon Brando is really good too
| |
Great album but no stand out tracks
| |
