Why is this news?

maybe i missed it, i saw the guard push him down once, then push him away. I get it was by his head but it looked more excessive than it probably was....

naturally very alarming
Why is this news?
to my knowledge, security "not doing their job properly" is a fairly prevalent issue with punk shows and it's good to see the performers sticking up for the kids. if this were an actual legitimate reliable music news article it would probably file under "awareness" and/or "publicity", the latter because it clearly gives Parker and co. a good sticking-up-for-the-little-guy look
also i went to this festival in Australia and the Wonder Years did kind of the same thing and it was very awesome to see from the crowd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQYPPpJ0d_8
Digging: Joyce Manor - Never Hungover Again
Its news cause its badazz
It's a performer sticking up for his fans.
I DON'T CARE IF HE WAS ON DRUGS
OR IF HE HAD A KNIFE
IT'S UN-FUCKING-CALLED FOR

"maybe i missed it, i saw the guard push him down once, then push him away. I get it was by his head but it looked more excessive than it probably was...."
dude come on the guard was very clearly being malicious and putting all of his force into the pushes and trying to hurt the kid
Half of show security guards seem to be good at helping prevent and solve problems, while the other half are causing them or making them worse.
Digging: I, the Breather - Life Reaper
I've only seen security cause a problem once. The bassist of the band jumped into the crowd (without his bass), and when
he tried to get back on stage one security guy thought he was just some fan trying to get on stage and grabbed him. Then
they started getting violent with each other before the other security guys told him it was the bassist.
Both bands should be kicked off the tour
Digging: The Antikythera Mechanism - Pathos
Go enjoy your super neutered "punk rawk" festival kids.
agreed go to a basement show fucking punk-plebs
best security guard I ever met threw me onto the stage at a Goldfinger concert
I hate the "this isn't news comments"
Sometimes it's nice to read something other than band posts artwork or bands new album or whatever. Variety is cool
Digging: Nadja - Radiance of Shadows
"dude come on the guard was very clearly being malicious and putting all of his force into the pushes and trying to hurt the kid"
if he WANTED to hurt the kid he would've hurt him, that security guard was huge, he just shoved him by the head, which is still kinda fuked up.
They're kids at fucking wapred tour for Christ's sake
That was awesome. Respect.
Let's all hate on people for being kids and enjoying music festivals.
Digging: Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties - We Don't Have Each Other
Should we be making news articles about this kinda shit every time it happens? ffs
No. It's nice to see articles like this every once and a while, if something like this was posted ALL the time instead of every now and then that would be annoying
i mean idk how often does a member of a somewhat popular band confront then get assaulted by security?
this isn't news lol. anyone who saw it would do the same.
Digging: 68 - In Humor and Sadness
I thought i would share as it's about a band and it's pretty interesting/entertaining which to me is music news, i like seeing a band stand up for their fans like this, also cheers to whoever sorted out the formatting (i messed it up when i edited to correct my spelling)
The other reason it's newsworthy to me is the videos, if it was just text that would be boring
I used to sleep on these guys, but they're such a good band. Happy I decided to give them a fair listen, love the vocals.
publicity stunt, they're both probably releasing a new album soon

lol security at a punk show bunch of pussies
But they're not punk.
yea theyre pop punk, makes em even bigger pussies imo
Pop punk is full of pussies. It's the boybands of the rock/metal/punk oriented music (along with the bad eggs of Deathcore) Panic!, You Me At Six, etc. are disgraces to mankind.
Saosin, Opeth, Make Them Suffer, Whitechapel, Disturbed, Iron Maiden, Rebelution, Sonata Artica, Ensiferum, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Metallica, Jamies Elsewhere, Avenged Sevenfold, August Burns Red, Aborted, Cattle Decapitation, Benighted, ,"
2/5 taste smh
"lol security at a punk show"
lol security at a music festival with over 100 acts
this isn't even punk, this is pop punk
if anything this altercation put some hair on his chest, and maybe he'll even question his terrible music taste now
Digging: Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
^ you give them too much credit, probably not at all.
because I definitely pay attention to my favorite bands list kris
I liked the part in the second vid at the end when that guy dives back into the crowd out of nowhere, and the two
security dudes just look at each other and shrug.
