Trvth is Approaching

2014-07-01 by Necrotica | 39 Comments
Prolific multi-genre songwriter Mike Smith is releasing a new album entitled Approaching under his project
Trvth. This will be his eighth LP released since 2012. In the "comments" section on his bandcamp page, Mike
Smith notes:

’On Approaching I’m going back to some of my older styles of music from the likes of Black Horse Plague. I
miss writing that style and rather than trying to duplicate Black Horse Plague my attempt here is to expound on
musical ideas and thematic concepts. I appreciate the support from all my fans and have taken everyone’s
positive criticism to heart and have worked towards improvements of production, album length, and individual
passage transitions. I hope you will all enjoy this release in its entirety.’

Speaking of album length, this is one of Trvth's shortest LPs clocking in at just under 30 minutes. Below is the
track listing for Approaching which is set to be released 7/3/14:

1. Effervescent
2. Bridge
3. Chemical Resurrection
4. Canvass
5. The Moment Came
6. Approaching

Approaching can be streamed and downloaded for free with a limit of 200 downloads per month from the

Also, unfortunately, the band selection portion of the news editing wasn't and isn't working at the moment for me. So that's why Trvth's discog isn't popping up

Less than 30 minutes isn't really an LP...?

Fair enough, but to really satisfy, you'd usually want an album longer than that

Mad did you write the rules on album lengths? Lol

Yeah, it's completely normal to put out shorter albums. Shut it, Mad.

Look at Human by Death. That album's only about 33 minutes and it's one of the most fulfilling death metal records out there. As long as the album's great, you'll wanna spin it often anyway so who cares?

Then I guess Death - Human isn't an LP, according to Mad's 'experience'.
