Cool. It looks like the CD will also be remixed!
Swee, now I can forget the last 2 albums ever existed.
that remix/remaster sounds pretty sweet
fuck yeah bud mastodon stickers
These guys have such awesome artwork. It's worth buying even if you have no idea who they are or dislike their music.
Digging: Tim Bowness - Stupid Things That Mean The World
Good news seeing as I don't own Remission yet. Looking forward to hear any production differences, a complete re-mix sounds interesting
might get that sweet purple shirt m/
Just started diggin this album hard as well can't wait
Digging: Wil Wagner - Laika
cutting the trailer before the good part ugh
2nd best don maybe now the kids will chck it
That 48 second video had more riffs than the newest album
Digging: Virtue - We Stand to Fight
$50 for the vinyl? fuck you relapse
Doesn't even need a remix, production is fine the way it is.
remix =/= remaster
new version already sounds good so i'm for it
it's both man
If this wasn't 50 bucks I would be all over this
Digging: Howls of Ebb - The Marrow Veil
wtf is with all the reissues now?
Digging: Titus Andronicus - The Most Lamentable Tragedy
It's a sign that we're getting old
i remember when this came out
most of you remember first reading about this after knowing about crack the sky
seabeast on that fuse metal show uranium or w/e got me into em
wow, now they can make it sound like the Hunter, yay.
So much hate for the last two albums for no reason, meatheads just want them to keep making Leviathan and Blood Mountain over and over... most great bands actually change their sound and don't stay in one place for their career. I'll agree that the Hunter wasn't my favorite but it had it's moments and OMAtS was a step up from it. But yeah I'm excited for this reissue!
Digging: August Burns Red - Found in Far Away Places
^ exactly how I feel when people say they've sold out.
Digging: Inter Arma - Sky Burial
Great Relapse, now make it fucking affordable on vinyl for once. Every time they do one of these reissues, they price them way above what they should be just because they're colored or whatever. Plus, their colored vinyls sound like shit.
I suppose relapse are making the most of the albums mastodon recorded with them. Probably won't be long until Leviathan and even Blood Mountain are re released.
Digging: Between the Buried and Me - Coma Ecliptic
dont give a shit about this, it doesnt need a remaster.
sweet, i disagree with others though cause this album's production sucked ass and definitely will benefit from a remaster
Digging: Tame Impala - Currents
Probably won't be long until Leviathan and even Blood Mountain are re released.
Not a problem with me. Mastodon didn't really have good production until Crack The Skye anyway.
You don't think? I think the production on blood mountain is excellent.
everyone is dickriding crack the sky now
"Plus, their colored vinyls sound like shit."
"Not a problem with me. Mastodon didn't really have good production until Crack The Skye anyway."
Everyone needs to calm down! I made a mistake. For whatever reason I remember Blood Mountain having poor production.
Jeez, ever heard of being human?
Leviathan definitely would fair better with better production though.
nonapplicable with a wack as fuck opinion as usual
Do I know you?
Good news seeing as I don't own Remission yet. will definitely pick it up, just for the extended art and extras and the fact it's the only one I don't have.
Regarding production, I like the original production of the first 2 albums. It's "sludge" metal so it's supposed to sound murky as hell
Digging: Symphony X - Underworld
Oh wow Mastadon have actually released a record I care about in 2014.
I just listened to Leviathan vs. Blood Mountain and there's a big difference in production. Leviathan needs to be remastered as well but it stops there, the rest sounds great as far as I'm concerned.
Crack the Skye's production feels makes the tracks sound muffled at times. I'd say it's their worst mix out of the albums I own. (which is everything minus The Hunter and Once More 'round the Sun).
True, bass and drums don't really seem to jump out there as on the other albums. What I noticed with Leviathan is that some songs are noticeably mixed lower than others.
leviathan does not need to be remastered, the production is one of the things that makes it so great
neither does this but at some point relapse will do it and overcharge like a motherfucker for it
already pirated and jamming it now, sounds aight
