Avenged Sevenfold have announced that their second album, Waking The Fallen, will be re-released on August 26th (the album's 11th anniversary). The re-
release will feature 11 previously unreleased demos and live recordings, a 30 minute documentary, behind the scenes footage of the making of the album, exclusive
interviews with the band members, and the original take of the "Unholy Confessions" music video. The album trailer can be watched below:

I can dig this. They used to be one of the better metalcore bands. CoE was great too. All downhill from there though. An 11th year anniversary is a bit of an odd choice though.

I think I read in an interview that they wanted to do a 10th anniversary but they got sidetracked or some shit so they just put it off.

Yeah this bugs me. Also, almost no one of the new fans knows the debut, and it's a shame.

Anyway, I had hype until I read the "11 never heard demos"... they are basically demos of the current WtF songs and some live versions of them. That's fuckin poor, if you ask me.

I'm a huge fan of WtF but this is really... bah, maybe it will make more people listen to it, let's take it that way.

This album is their 'best' but I don't think they should be re-releasing old material? What reason? They've shifted vocals completely so I guess they'll have their new vocal style instead?

Yeah basically. Saw them a few years ago at festival venue, and they ended with Unholy Confessions, but it was almost like the band was forced to.

Last time I saw them they closed with Chapter Four and Unholy Confessions, and both weren't forced at all. Just keep in mind that he doesn't scream like before.

They should really put more variety. For example they should take out This Means War and take in The Fight, it would be an interesting change.

They could have released it with hail to the king as a super deluxe fantastic amazing rare fan club edition or something and then widely release it a year later. But this isn't bad if you're a fan I suppose.
