The 11th anniversary seems like a really random choice

Guess they didn't want two releases practically on the same date?
Should have released Hail to the King a year later, giving them an extra year to come up with something original and good.........

I can dig this. They used to be one of the better metalcore bands. CoE was great too. All downhill from there though. An 11th year anniversary is a bit of an odd choice though.

I think I read in an interview that they wanted to do a 10th anniversary but they got sidetracked or some shit so they just put it off.

The demos could be pretty interesting, but a part of me wishes they were unearthing some long-lost "new" songs from that era

"how many avenged sevenfold fans know that this album exists?"

Yeah this bugs me. Also, almost no one of the new fans knows the debut, and it's a shame.

Anyway, I had hype until I read the "11 never heard demos"... they are basically demos of the current WtF songs and some live versions of them. That's fuckin poor, if you ask me.

I'm a huge fan of WtF but this is really... bah, maybe it will make more people listen to it, let's take it that way.

This album is their 'best' but I don't think they should be re-releasing old material? What reason? They've shifted vocals completely so I guess they'll have their new vocal style instead?

"how many avenged sevenfold fans know that this album exists?"

Yeah basically. Saw them a few years ago at festival venue, and they ended with Unholy Confessions, but it was almost like the band was forced to.

Probably will check this out though, Waking the Fallen was one of my first "heavy" albums that pushed me into the metal direction.

Last time I saw them they closed with Chapter Four and Unholy Confessions, and both weren't forced at all. Just keep in mind that he doesn't scream like before.

"I'm pretty sure they always end with Unholy Confessions"

They should really put more variety. For example they should take out This Means War and take in The Fight, it would be an interesting change.

But seriously, why celebrate the 11th anniversary?

if by "celebrate the 11th anniversary" you mean "greedily milking a beloved album for as much money as possible" then yeah

It's 11 year because if they did a 10 year it would have come out at the same time as that piece of shit album hail to the king.

They should've just released this instead of Hail to the King.

They could have released it with hail to the king as a super deluxe fantastic amazing rare fan club edition or something and then widely release it a year later. But this isn't bad if you're a fan I suppose.

Well... considering it has nothing new to offer... what should I buy it for? The cover artwork? I'm sorry, but a few lives aren't worth 25 euros (standard price for new albums).

11th Anniversary, because they were too busy making a shitty hard rock album on the 10th Anniversary.

Waking the Fallen fucking rules. I'm a little unclear on what this album is going to be though. 11 new songs like the ones on Waking the Fallen? Cause I'm down for that.
