Devin Townsend Project invites you to sing on Z2

Devin Townsend has been hard at work on the new record for the past few months, getting it ready to welcome Ziltoid The Omniscient back this autumn. Much like Devin
did with the 'Lucky Animals' video from Epicloud, he is now inviting fans to leave their stamp on the forthcoming album by asking them to submit their vocals for a
selection of songs and take their spot in what he has dubbed 'The Universal Choir'!

For full details on how you can take part and even a sneak peek at 3 songs from the new record, head over to The Universal Choir website and find out more:
http://universalchoir.insideoutmusic.com/

Devin had this to say about this exciting project:

"Hey all, Ziltoid 2 is upon us! I'm deep in the recording of this double album, and as part of the theme, Ziltoid the alien joins forces with the humans...and what better
way to express that then to invite you all to sing along? The 'Universal Choir' is a platform in which vocal parts are explained, and then provides you a way to upload your
singing contributions that we will edit together into one, big choir! The parts are a little tricky but perfection is not required, just enthusiasm. Feel free to overdub
yourself, get a bunch of friends together or just yell along. The bigger, the better. Send it back and we will then assemble the 'Universal Choir' which will actually be part
of the new recording. It should be fun! (Or a total chaotic mess :) but let's try either way! The website, (which works best if it's not on a mobile device), explains all the
parts, with demonstrations and backing tracks. The hope is that a lot of people will upload themselves singing the parts, and then we assemble it and add it to the record.
Come sing on Ziltoid’s album, and have a great time!
"

The deadline for submissions is the 25th June 2014, so get singing now!

What a cool idea.

On a side note, those clips sound great. Very Accelerated Evolution style riffing going on.

Fucking love Devin Townsend. This sounds like a great idea and gives a lot of the fans a chance to contribute (which as we all know, he has a ton of fans to get submissions from) so I'm looking forward to checking out the clips and giving my part whether he uses my trashy voice or not.

Psyched for the album. Also, wonder if the double album will be an entire concept or the second disc would be the so to speak "extras" type thing he normally releases.

just submitted mine but I turned off my email as well because everytime I do something like this the
artist likes me so much that they want me to do a full guest song and I just don't have the time for
that with my busy lifestyle right now

there's a big difference between ego and telling the truth, and although I guess I didn't have to post that comment I would be dead if I didn't because this large sweaty man behind me has a gun to my head, so...

@Atomic Yeah, I could only manage the first part of Dimension Z and that barely. Doing high-pitched bit of the the background vox for "Z2" must have been hilarious for my neighbours too...

Just recorded my vox for "Before We Die." Gonna submit it later, so psyched to have Dev fuck with my voice like that bitch in The Little Mermaid.
