Well...it's first time my hopes went down the toilet for an In Flames album. Not really the worst thing I ever heard but it's one of the worst song they've done.
Digging: DragonForce - Reaching Into Infinity
Dude, this didn't happen to you a long time ago?
Metalcore band In Flames
not really, I actually enjoyed the last two, well Sense of Purpose I somewhat enjoyed.
Im just gonna jam jester race right now in denial...
wtf happened to these guys :[
Digging: The Ruins Of Beverast - Exuvia
Jesper left, that's what
Well, that's pretty much what they've become since Reroute to Remain
Gonna go jam Clayman and pretend it's 2000 again. Still their most focused and best album, no argument.
uhhh, Jester Race? Colony? Whorcle?
Well, I didn't hate it.
hahaha this is so bad
R.I.P. In Flames 1990-2008
Honestly, almost everything on A Sense of Purpose is better than this, and that's saying something. Though granted, the guitar work isn't bad.
The guitar tone is so plain and boring, and the vocals make me puke. This used to be my favorite band. -.-
Digging: The Mayan Factor - In Lake 'CH
Guys, this actually isn't bad at all. I dig the vocals.
There's nothing metalcore about this though.
well you're the first person to say that, and will probably be the only one
About how it's not bad, or about how it's not metalcore?
song is weird as hell
About how it's "not bad." Practically almost everyone is going to hate this.
After repeated listens this isn't the worst Song i've ever heard anymore but still, the first chorus is just aweful.
Video's got 400+ likes on Youtube. Pretty sure I'm not the only one who doesn't hate it.
Dang, and A New Dawn was such a fucking jam, was hoping for something better, at least their new artwork style rocks.
@KriegdemKriege I meant on this site in particular.
at least their new artwork style rocks.
Meh, I'll admit that artwork is kinda cool.
that chorus hahaha wat
Toondude, maybe be a little more specific next time. (:
Weird song title, right?
maybe it's some stupid penis joke?
Super boring! m/
Digging: Broken Social Scene - Hug of Thunder
Single is a joke
At least the intro was cool... then it goes down hill from there.
I like the album art.... that's something isn't it?
the vocals are the worst thing about this.
Digging: My Brother The Wind - Twilight in the Crystal Cabinet
that chorus is hilarious
Used to be my favourite band in highschool so I will probably still listen to album but don't have high hopes and even I thought ASOP wasn't bad!
Digging: Deicide - Deicide
The cover is really good tho
To the surprise of no one, this is horrible
looks like they forgot to flush the toilet.
Well that was literally all over the fucking place. Awful song.
song sucks. agreed about the metalcore tag, there's really no reason to call them melodeath anymore.
listening to colony instead
It's really really mediocre. And i'm the biggest In Flames fanboy here so that says a lot...I liked it until 1:40 though
Digging: The Night Flight Orchestra - Amber Galactic
God damn, that was awful.
Digging: Shadow Of Intent - Reclaimer
Nothing great but I enjoyed it. I'll have to hear more if I consider getting the album.
Digging: Exit Order - Seed Of Hysteria
are they going for radio play or what. "metal" riffs and the pop rock chorus geez.
How do you go from genre legends to faux metal trend hoppers?
Chris was that really needed?
We get it, they aren't ponytail melodeath anymore.
Well that was pretty damn bad. The chorus was okay and quite catchy, but nothing Katy Perry couldn't do.
man everything about this sucks
the riffs suck
the drumming sucks
anders is a shit vocalist omg
Well my pre-2008 all time favorite band just put the last nail (heh) in their own coffin
thats so sad
This is a good nu-metal song. And death to false metal like nu-metal right?
chorus is actually quite okay to me, nothing special but enjoyable.
the rest is a mess though.
I liked the first two minutes.
Digging: Sunless - Urraca
That's some sweet artwork
I don't like it.
I actually prefer newer In Flames to older In Flames. I've never listened to a full album of their melodeath stuff. This song is alright. I would say Sounds Of A Playground Fading is one of my favorite albums to listen to, but that also might be because I was probably dropped as a baby, and brains I lack.
Not horrific, not great. Still can't wait for the whole album to drop.
Dude, listen to the Jester Race and Colony.
I actually prefer newer In Flames to older In Flames. I've never listened to a full album of their melodeath stuff.
It's not the fact that I care what era of In Flames you like better, it's the fact you say you prefer one to another without giving a proper listen to the first era.
'Metalcore band In Flames'
this is ehh but Sounds of a Playground fading was solid so i'm not losing my hopes just yet
Well, someone's rather upset. But I ain't changing it, so deal with it.
Well Jesper might come back, at least I hope he will.
Watch out for that big kid on the playground, jeesh.
lol, wow big tough guy on the block. I don't care.
when did this become 4chan.
"lol ur be newfag "tyreal calm down dude.
this is passable, solos are pretty cool but the song is literally replaceable with anything off their last album. Sense of Purpose was their last good album.
Wizard, yeah good point in most cases, but I have listened to all of their albums to an extent just not fully from start to finish. It's not that I don't like them, I just like from Clayman on. That's all.
I agree with wiz for a change.
Go listen to Colony. Tthe last consistently good album.
Will always have a spot for Come Clairty though.
they could have made an entire album like "a new dawn", instead they make this shit
also fuck anders, such an awful vocalist
Digging: Falls of Rauros - Vigilance Perennial
I agree with wiz for a change.
You should always agree with me ; ).
I don't understand why they just won't switch genre to pop rock, it's so obvious that they want to be as radio-friendly as possible these days.
Ha ha. I read "Mediocre band In Flames..." and thought that it sounded about right.
Digging: The Birthday Massacre - Under Your Spell
That just ruined my sunday.. why do these guys still make music?
Damn...time to go jam some Dark Tranquillity I guess.
I enjoyed their last 2 but... what the hell is this. Nope, sorry.
Crazy to listen to Clayman or even Soundtrack to your Escape and think it's the same band...
I honestly don't find it that bad of a song, and never even really bothered listening to this band besides Colony and Reroute to Remain. Both were alright in their own way.
Then again, I'm an absolute wet pussy waiting to get fucked when it comes to catchy shit in my metal.
Nothing wrong with having catchy metal, but this song IMO has no flow and the chorus was very forgettable
when will they graduate from their not good enough to care, not bad enough to care phase
Digging: Chance the Rapper - 10 Day
I generally don't mind their newer stuff, and tried liking this...but wow.
The only good part was that "chorus" thing at like 1:44
They should've quit right after Come Clarity, maybe A Sense of Purpose. They're just shitting on everything they accomplished in the genre at this point.
Well I was expecting nothing and still feel disappointed !!
Metalcore? Metal...core? I fucking... I.... Am I having a stroke right now?
the chorus was crap and the first real riff is diabolically bad
so basically it sucks donkey balls
Yep...I just knew everyone was going to hate this. Well, almost everyone.
I didn't even listen to the last In Flames album
check out "A New Dawn" it's the best song they've done in many years
rest is pretty much shit though
SOAPF is actually pretty decent at least in my opinion, but it's more technical and some songs contain some of Anders worst vocal performances.
Apparently I listened to and rated the last in flames and I just don't remember
maybe for the best if you're more into their first era
should be a given
This song didn't surprise me at all. They bring nothing new to the table.
It's like a pop-version of KoRn, well and then you have these clean vocals that sound like BFMV, the more i listen to it.
Band has been a favorite of mine during my teenage years...and then I moved on. Kinda glad because this is lolbad
You know, I just recently found out that someone made a comic based on In Flames called "The Jester's Curse." I don't know whether to laugh like an insane monkey or to be actually intrigued.
man, In Flames and Scar Symmetry both went down the toilet. this is awful. thank god Soilwork still kicks massive ass
Digging: Ulsect - Ulsect
thank god Soilwork still kicks massive ass
thank god Soilwork still kicks massive ass
when has soilwork ever kicked any ass
man I hate 7th tier users
Yeah, thats pretty turrible.
Since ages ago.
stoopid new users ruinin guests little internet hiding place. Get over it.
oh man this is rly bad ):
I have something you can chug.
why would u make up a lie like that.
I've heard lots of horrible songs, and this is not one of them, it's kinda bad, but it also has some good aspects. Some of you guys really fucking like to exaggerate things quite a lot.
Oh dear god why.
This band really went up in flames.
Digging: The Ruins Of Beverast - Exuvia
I mean, they've been boring for a while now but this is the first time they've become truly 'horrible'.
How did this band go from making albums like Lunar Strain and Jester Race to making crap like this?
death to false false metalcore.
am i sputniking?
this is awful
that main riff is just fucking terrible, in flames fans on youtube are the most deluded i have ever seen.
nah there's a huge gap between the older fans and the tweenies who soak up all the inflated shit they release these days
'this might just be their best production ever!'
shit like that makes me want to quit music all together.
yeah that sucked
breaking my heart MO.
I happen to like most stuff they put out, each release is different as they move further towards a poppier metal sound. Guess they are still melodic metal eh?
Now its huge choruses and simpler riffs vs the older "melodeath" power chords with third harmonies.
I have a feeling this will be Playground pt 2 which will be a bit disappointing but oh well
all hail the Jester Race
Very saddened by this. But still think album will be good.
Because they're a bunch of sellouts now?
It really wasnt that bad listening through it once. But thats probably my lifetime quota for it.... I dont think it has any unique qualities that would make me want to listen to it again.
I was extremely disappointed by this, but people are so annoying... definitely not a bunch of sellouts. this isn't radio friendly. also, this song's chorus is good. instrumentally, probably one of the worst they've ever done.
How did anyone seriously expect anything good from this band?
Yeah they aren't trying to hit the billboard 200s or anything. They are trying to develop their sound and progress, but I find it has been taking the wrong approach for a few albums now.
I mean, I enjoyed everything I've heard from sounds of a playground fading....but this is just awful
I wish these guys would at least change their name so I didn't have to associate this song with the same band that wrote songs like Zombie Inc. and Moonshield.
I've liked/loved most of what these guys have done. Sense of Purpose was kinda he, but Playground was a HUGE improvement and actually inventive and exciting. This is pretty bad. It's like they forgot what a song is.
Meh...where's the melo death?
Well, hope dies last
Song actually started out pretty decent, before Anders came in. He's become such a terrible vocalist it's not even funny
Why are all the links broken? Are they re-writing the album or something? Someone link me here...
The links were not uploaded by the band and their record company deleted them from youtube. You can hear Rusted Nail on Spotify though.
Actually have heard rusted nail and through oblivion before, album is going to be a 2,5
while everyone else is going to give it a 1 lol
A 1 is just for stuff I despise with burning passion ( hip hop for uncultured snapbackers, really bad
pop, scene shit, shit bizkit, crunkcore, the graveyard classics, manure and waking the cadaver ). This
is 2,5 or a 2
Heard another new song called ''Everything's Gone'' yesterday...It's better than Rusted Nail and Through Oblivion
Could you give me the link?
It's not on Youtube anymore sorry
Just to see if there's actually hope left, which I pretty much now doubt since it got removed.
It's a very good song actually
Jester left, that's what
Not just left, he died. Completely now. R.I.P Jester
wah wah wah they don't sound like they used to wah wah
my complaint actually isnt that they dont sound like they used to, im fine with bands changing sound. as long as their new sound isnt garbage.
They weren't even that good at their old sound anyway. At the Gates were better.
Come clarity and Sense of Purpose were fantastic. The last album had some alright songs (Dead Ships, Enter Tragedy) but it wasn't their best. That will be Colony to me.
Hell I even liked their Nu Metal albums.
Chug, old In Flames sounded nothing like At the Gates.
He's trying to justify his belief that the newer In Flames is better than the old. Even though Reroute to Remain is my favorite IF album, their older albums are better than the majority of the newer ones.
They both played that "Gothenburg sound" just with varying degrees of melody. If u want consistency then ATG were better but IF were open to changing shit up and I guess their fans just wanted a consistent run of albums from them which is what their older stuff offered. I wasn't the biggest fan of their older material, big deal.
