Pretty awesome tbh.
very SOAD-y. three average singers
Better than the last one I might say. Love the guitar parts, though Chester screaming sounds a little off imo.
Digging: Norma Jean - Polar Similar
are we sure it wasn't just one soad member on this track
@Brostep Well the vocals don't belong to Daron so nope.
If this was released in 2002, no one would shut the fuck up about it.
Digging: Bon Iver - 22, A Million
^ amen to that
I liked the overall feel of the song musically but it ended up being pretty boring imo.
The chester's harsh vocals on this are legit as hell
Some of his best screams in a long time.
I don't care if it's not goat or wag or what have you but I'm excited.
Digging: Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
Victimized scream was great, I know most of you hate that song but I love it :P.Still the scream here is better
Yeah, I'm one of the few who like Victimized. Granted it is kind of a pointless song but Mike was great in it and I thought the drums were well executed as well.
Keys to kingdom will be similar to victimized but longer according to the preview
Really? Well then I'm excited for it.
Well, that was lackluster. Not to the extent of Wastelands, but whatever goodwill there was after Guilty All the Same is pretty much extinguished
This = GATS >>>>>>> UIG= Wastelands
GATS is still the best one so far, this is probably the second best.
The reviews/summaries of the album so far seem to indicate many more screamed vocals than the few we've heard so far. If they're as good as this then I'm stoked.
Daron Malakian is like one of my favorite singers ever
In BYOB he was great tbh
Malakian only did guitar on this sadly.
i like this
When I hear Chester scream like that it makes me want a Linkin Park album where the only vocals are harsh.
best song so far
Feels like this album is most growing pains.
It's alright I guess. It sounds pretty decent, I just feel like nothing really happened the whole time.
Only thing from them I've liked in years.
this is epic. and good lyrics too
This is the closest we will get to a new Tool album
Fuck man, the reason I haven't heard Tool yet is because they decided not to make deals with streaming companies like Spotify. I don't want to download their stuff illegally. Are there any places that do have their albums at high quality for legal consumption?
youtube, if u don't mind bad quality
song was decent
surprisingly alright lyrics for an LP song, and Daron definitely leaves his signature on the track. there's hope for this
Really good song apart from Chester's vocals
Can't wait to hear A Line In the Sand
I got linked a "leak" of Line in the Sand and got Rick Roll'd for the first time in years... fuck.
The fact that Daron Malakian doesn't sing a verse on this feels like a real missed opportunity.
Best thing they've done in a while.
This + GATS gives some hope. I'm glad they're done with the dubstep/electro shit.
This is pretty respectable
Lol, I actually like it.
Chester's cleans feel off to me, but damn those screams ruled.
Digging: Latala - Explanation Marks
This is actually pretty legit.
Watered down SOAD with shitty vox.
Digging: Single Soul - earthly conduct
Ha! Cool. Not bad at all.
So I just heard the entire album at the NYC listening party at the Harman Flagship Store.
Can't make my mind up whether it's awful or extremely good. It's different, and there are a lot of songs like this one in there, plus expect a few more epic Chester screams.
It's not bad but it's just not good either.
this is their worst released song so far, i rly don't like that one.
Song is at best ok. I was expecting and hoping it to be heavier but even so, the song is just alright to me.
Digging: Alcest - Kodama
nah it's great
I really want to like this but it's not really doing anything for me
it's really not great lmao
mediocre - below average at best
I dig it a lot.
i feel like the first half of the song was building up to something and that something never came. Decent song anyway
I can deal with this. A bit dull, same as their other new songs except for Guilty All the Same. Album will probably be a 3.0
Oh my god this is actually good. The hell is up with that?
Album will a 3,5 or 4, will be higher with a better production
They purposely made the youtube versions bad quality to try and stop illegal downloads. Trust me, iTunes quality is 100000000x better.
like how they didnt like weed
Digging: Misery Signals - Of Malice and the Magnum Heart
These lyrics are so fucking cliché, it's painful...
lyrics suck but the song is better than pretty much everything on their last album and the other singles from this
"Final Masquerade" leaked tonight. I think this is the final track they're releasing before the full album, its also the softest song on the album.
^ Not bad, but the lyrics are cliched...again.
Why is everybody suddenly on LP's case for having bad lyrics? Was there a point in the band's career where their lyrics where actually good?
Digging: The Dear Hunter - Act V: Hymns With The Devil In Confessional
There are far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far worse lyrics than the one of the LP songs, sure the lyrics deal with cliche topics usually but most of the time they are well constructed
By the way, final masquerade is decent and catchy
"Why is everybody suddenly on LP's case for having bad lyrics? Was there a point in the band's career where their lyrics where actually good?"
Why does it take the mods a day to approve news articles. I posted the Final Masquerade stream like 12 hours ago.
Final Masquerade is decent
Album's shaping up to be a 3-3.5
Only true shit song was Until It's gone
Rebellion>GATS>Final Masquerade>Wastelands>Until It's Gone
Album will be a 3.5-4
I'd switch GATS + Rebellion and that's how I'd have it
GATS > Until it's Gone > Rebellion > Final Masquerade > Wastelands for me.
The production on every song so far has been awful.
You mean the sound quality on youtube is awful. They've done that on purpose to stop people using youtube-mp3 to get the songs for free at full quality.
