Better change those Aoty lists you were so eager to prepare
|
| |
I wouldn't rush changing anything.
|
| |
Daron and Tom, why?!
|
| |
For some reason I'm really waiting for this one ...
|
| |
Me too; I only listened to a tiny bit of Living Things, despise the two preceding albums and don't really care for Hybrid of Meteora any longer...but I'm still interested in this for goodness knows what reason
|
| |
eh I have a feeling that this is actually going to be good. Not that I listened to their last album but I got a feeling...
|
| |
its gonnabe shittt
|
| |
"There are only two guitar players in the world I think are good" -Tom Morello
Don't tell me this is one of them

Inside Linkin Park's Heavy New Album: 'We Need to Weed Out the Emo'
Yeah that's what it is
|
| |
This actually looks like its gonna be good.
|
| |
"This actually looks like its gonna be good."
You must have missed the part where the article said Linkin Park.
|
| |
How can you judge anything before its even come out.
|
| |
Even though I don't care for them much anymore, Linkin Park was the band that got me into heavier music and started the development of my musical tastes. For that reason, I'll always have a bit of a nostalgic soft spot for the band and will always give their new work a listen.
However, "Guilty All the Same" was better than anything they've written in quite awhile, so I'm actually looking forward to hearing the rest of this album.

"What makes a 37-year-old angry is different than what made us angry back in the day."
Orly? This is breaking news to a band like LP.
|
| |
A bit much on the guest appearances, but Guilty All The Same was solid so there's hope
|
| |
Damn why are they dragging Tom Morello into this mess?
|
| |
those song titles doe
|
| |
"Guilty All The Same" was the best thing they have done in years, this may be interesting.
|
| |
Isn't Daron Malakian like really, really fat now?
|
| |
He always had somewhat of a belly tbh
|
| |
"I as thinking, 'Oh, shit. Rock radio's not gonna play this, are they?" he says.
Fuck guys this is gonna be brootz
|
| |
I laughed at that cause stations where I live play Guilty All The Same all the time now
|
| |
In seriousness though, I give Linkin Park a ton of respect as a band. With the exception of guest appearances they've never resorted to being one of those bands that has the producer write all the songs for them/with them, and other than Hybrid Theory/Meteora, they haven't simply rested on their laurels (even if not every "experiment" worked perfectly). Not to mention they've penned some of the stronger rock radio singles over the last decade, and put on one hell of a live show

@sapient, yeah it honestly makes no sense that LP is one of the most bad mouthed bands around
|

'@sapient, yeah it honestly makes no sense that LP is one of the most bad mouthed bands around'
100% agree. Makes no sense, band has experimented a lot over the years and even though some may not like their music you gotta respect them for polarising their fan base and challenging them. Will check this for sure.
Still waiting for Reanimation 2.0 though...
|
| |
Mike, EMO is not a genre to chase.
|
| |
It'll be better than Minutes to Midnight but not as good as A Thousand Suns.
Single was okay but I wasn't impressed
|
| |
I hope this album will be great. When I was younger Linkin Park was my favourite band, but they have lost that position as of now. I hope that this album will make them one of my favourite bands again.
|
| |
heaviest to date?
|
| |
Well Guilty All The Same is arguably heavier than stuff on HT
|
| |
I think this will be their heaviest album overall.
|
| |
"It'll be better than Minutes to Midnight but not as good as A Thousand Suns."
Well, A Thousand Suns was a turd so...
|
| |
War HUH what is it good for?!
And Minutes to Midnight is their best album. Sitting at a solid 2.5-3
Great band!!
|
| |
Haven't been this excited for a new release
|
| |
Going to be br00tal
|
| |
"And Minutes to Midnight is their best album. Sitting at a solid 2.5-3"
nope
|
| |
Man, I really hope they release another advance track.
Also, not excited about that Tom Morello guest spot, he's so freaking overrated
|
| |
"nope"
au contrare mon soeur
|
| |
I actually liked Living Things, it has some great tracks, and this new album seems promising. Some people seem to hate this band just for the sake of it.
|
| |
tbh these track titles sound like A7X songs
|
| |
I hope Daron sings and not just riffs
Actually, I take that back, we all know how he ruined Mez/Hyp
|
| |
"tbh these tracks sound like A7X songs"
Then what was once bad has become abysmal
|
| |
Don't worry, I didn't say that, that was a quote from Tunelab
|
| |
still man, it sounds like it'll be horrendous
|
| |
"Mark The Graves" sounds kinda 2000's Dream Theatery
|
| |
like systematic chaos DT-ish?
|
| |
seems like a cross between Prophets of War, Sacrificed Sons and In the Presence of Enemies, I get that kinda dark vibe from it
|
| |
I hope Daron sings and not just riffs [2]
"Actually, I take that back, we all know how he ruined Mez/Hyp"
Ok his voice is pretty good, the only problem with the vocals on that record was that Serj was underused
|
| |
Let's face it....Hybrid Theory was so good, that it literally makes us give them another chance every new album
|
| |
the only problem with the vocals on that record was that Serj was underused [2]
This may be good or may not be I didn't really like Guilty All The Same that much.
|
| |
Rakims bit in Guilty All The Same is the only part worth listening to. Not to mention the band generally sounds like shit.
Will probably check it out, but I don't have much hope for this.
|
| |
I hope it's heavy but Living Things had heavy parts just thrown into songs it had no place for. Just want them to return to form.
And I totally agree with dawija1017. I give these guys a chance every album even though I know it won't be what I've been waiting for.....sadface.

Interesting features...
|
| |
I doubt that this will be much more than good mainstream rock with a possible punk-ish edge, but it will definitely be good and it's cool that all their albums are fairly different from each other (minus the cookie-cutter second album).
|
| |
"I doubt that this will be much more than good mainstream rock with a possible punk-ish edge"
let's hope so, LP haven't been good in a while
|
| |
At least they've learned how to make a decent title now.
|
| |
Like the newer stuff or hate it, but everyone can at least credit them for shifting sound with every album.

lol
|
| |
i really hope this is good
|
| |
also, that video was cool as fuck. song would have been better with a different chorus, but was still good for a linkin park song in 2014
|
| |
Lol Dude I just saw your username next to this in my discussions and was wondering if it was an LP reference
|
| |
Wait, Linkin Park didn't stop releasing music after Meteora?
Huh.
|
| |
Nobody else is psyched for Page Hamilton? I expect more from that song than the Tom Morello feature tbh.
|
| |
Dude, fuck all other guests, Daron Malakian is on it.
