i heard that nick was shit live but the recorded stuff sounds so fucking monotonous without him on it
I actually liked this. I'm surprised.
never knew they were canadian
anyway this is ok but it's a bit disappointing they're moving away from their trademark sound. This is more structured (lol) but it has a lot less going for it
Meh Im a little disappointed tbh. Vocals aint bad at all but it sounds like they've dumbed down they're sound quite a bit.
vocals killed any interest for me
I'm surprised at how many people don't like the new vocals, the old vocalist was awful both recorded and live. The song is pretty underwhelming overall though, the lyrics are atrocious.
Divided By was average but at least it held my interest, this is pretty monotonous
Digging: Code Orange - Forever
They lost their quirkiness and unexpectedness, which was the only good thing their sound had - heard the interview they also sound like a bunch of *****, one of the dudes said this album "will sound innovative even in 10 years", shut the front door.
This is pretty awful, at least divided by had some fun moments, this is just lazy and bland. You would think they could come up with better riffs in 3 years.
This band is fucking awful will avoid this like the plague
"This is pretty awful, at least divided by had some fun moments, this is just lazy and bland. You would think they could come up with better riffs in 3 years."
Ya this sums it up very well, to be fair though it is just one song but still I don't see the album impressing much. Hopefully Im wrong Ive got a soft spot for these guys because Ive been following them since they were just a local band.
All of the Above was good but then they had to sign to Sumerian and put out that shitty full length. I was so disappointed.
drew is gud
song is bad
Digging: Kill Bill - RESIN
yeah the old vocalist was fucking bad. at least the new vocals are a little better. i like the song tho its not bad
Digging: Flourishing - The Sum of All Fossils
Song isn't the archetypical djent I was assuming it would be
Digging: Threshold - Extinct Instinct
Probably the first metal song I've heard make use of the word "lemon"
well, this was bad. hurt my ears to listen to honestly.
so damn boring too.
Is that vocalist a girl or something
instrumentals sucked. So boring. Lyrics were cool in my opinion. and don't mind the new vocalist but what u gonna do when there's no melody whatsoever in the whole song
From what I've heard, the original vocalist blew out his vox from smoking so much on their last big tour and couldn't sing/scream at all.
Song is okay. I'll check this out in full.
I really dig this vocal style, but I hope that this is instrumentaly weakest track of the album.
pre' lame song but stlil gonna listen to the album for nostlgia
Divided by was good. This is different, but still good. Definitely more accessible and has more dynamics. But slightly more generic in the way that it sounds like Stray from the path, Northlane and Sworn in all at the same time. Divided by was cool because there's no other band that has made a record like that.
there was at least variation in the vocals when nick was around. even with drew on the song the vocals sound pretty samey the entire time. and the fact that the instrumentation is less chaotic isn't helping either
Instrumentation isn't half bad but the vocals are atrocious
Vocals sound like architects
i fail to see where there is any instrumentation period. i just... fuck. is this what this band is going for. i mean really?
divided by had some cool moments, and i'm still waiting for a remaster of their EP cause it sounds like dicks.
EP > everything they will ever do
I can't honestly get how one can say this is any good. This is as generic as they could have become. It's like an half assed version of Glass Cloud without a decent guitarist as mastermind.
"Divided by was good."
if by good you mean some of the worst shit i've ever heard
How would I know what the "worst shit" you've heard is? good one cock wrangler
If Divided By is the "worst shit" you've ever heard, then you must have no interest in this genre of music, in which case, why are you here? What makes you think anyone cares about your opinion?
Hey guys, I hate country music. I'm going to go troll their boards and talk about how shitty it all sounds to me. Great fucking plan, right?
In other news, the new song is underwhelming. It doesn't sound at all like the same band. I'll listen to it, but I expected much better.
I kinda liked the first 5 seconds or so, then the song didn't go anywhere
yeah i totally have no interest in this type of music thats why i was in a band that played 7 string groove shit. -_-
i'm just saying this band is literally the worst thing, you guys should try listening to better stuff in this vein.
This is one song off the album jesus people
"From what I've heard, the original vocalist blew out his vox from smoking so much on their last big tour and couldn't sing/scream at all."
Got a source for this? Or is it just rumour mill stuff? I'd be interested to know what ACTUALLY happened to the original vocalist.
Guys, he was in a band that played "7 string groove shit"
Previous Work Experience : 7 string groove shit
@hopelust it's rumor mill so far. Band has kept quiet about it. Just saw what the fans have posted when they went to their shows.
oh the perilous life that is touring. Catalyst for chain smoking. that's like being a guitarist and relentlessly playing that game where you stab a knife or pencil between your fingers on a table
Hope the whole album is like this.
Do we blame Sumerian? Upon a burning body's second record, the new Veil of Maya, Conducting from the
grave's second record, and now this? Structures showed they could play their instruments pretty damn
well on All Of The Above but this single is void of anything original.
Will wait to judge until it's released. Hope it's not shit.
Would like to hear some vocal versatility as well.
A Sumerian band releasing TWO good albums in a row is pretty rare
I never knew Sumerian had such a shaky reputation.
when did they ever have a good one?
