Fuck this rules
Passenger is a metal band with roots from heavy Swedish metal but are trying to explore and create a more unique sound.
good god that sounds awful but i will check right now
ok completely different band lol
more unique sound lol
Digging: Round One to Round Five - 1993-99 Main Street Records
Ugh this band
Thought this was that awful Anders Friden nu-metal band.
Digging: Nero Di Marte - Derivae
I remember when this band was quirky and occasionally wrote a song that could not be described as "painfully slow"
Night Vision Binoculars is an awesome song.
Digging: From Indian Lakes - Absent Sounds
@Lloyd that's why I wrote "British singer-songwriter" in the article itself you twit
Is this the guy that wrote that "Let Her Go" song that people have been so in love with lately?
I swore he was from Australia
Digging: Ef - Ceremonies
He's British man, but Australia is a bit like his second home, he spends a shitload of time touring around here and one of his albums (Flight of the Crow) is full of collaborations with Australian artists
And yes he's the Let Her Go guy but don't judge him off that song, please
Okay gotcha. I wasn't sure, because I've seen him doing tours and interviews down there a lot for some reason.
And no worries. I don't like that song much, anyway. Traveling Alone is where it's at.
Yeah he loves it here (can't blame him)!
Let Her Go's alright, just overplayed, but a hefty chunk of his discog is far better than it. Ah, Traveling Alone I don't believe I've heard, must be one of the thousand songs he released only on YouTube and not on an album
Australia seems pretty cool from what I can tell. I have a good friend that lives there, and he seems to like it alright. I'm only concerned about the overwhelming wildlife threats lol. But my girl wants to go there someday, so I reckon I'll have to take a trip there at some point in life.
It is very overplayed, but at least it's alright. It all does seem pretty solid indeed.
You can find a real nice live version of Traveling Alone on Youtube, it's the only place I've found it.
fuck up ya wanker I clicked the BAND PAGE link under the article
maybe if you put in the correct artist it could have helped
yeah it's Passenger (UK) fyi
Digging: Kayo Dot - Coffins On Io
this was ummm..
so tired of that god damn mumford and sons sound
^ I was listening to one of their songs on the radio with a co-worker once and I told him "I guarantee every shitty heavily-accented folk-pop band is going to come out of the woodwork." When both the alternative rock station and the top 40 station started playing this crap, I knew I had called the hell out of that.
"yeah it's Passenger (UK) fyi"
I wrote this actually
"so tired of that god damn mumford and sons sound"
Apples to oranges dude this is nothing similar
WHY IS THIS GENERIC FOLK SHIT APPEARING IN MY DISCUSSIONS TAB.. OMG RANT RANT
Digging: Panda Bear - Mr Noah
It knew that you were going to post here complaining about how it appeared in your discussions tab so it appeared in your discussions tab in order to make you post here and thus make it appear in your discussions tab
Did you check this tommy, you gun?
not yet lad i haven't forgotten though xx
Just give her a whirl now man I even embedded the link up there, it was all for you
this sucks bro, how people can listen to this homogenous music is beyond me.
almost as unoriginal as avicii brothers... very close call
yea pretty boring generic folk dick shite
i mean i thought the strings and brass instruments were nice but it just sounds exactly like a billion other artists that i've heard... and i don't even listen to this genre!
Firstly he has an amazing voice
Secondly his lyrics are fucking beyond belief good (lol gay)
And also I've never heard that kind of gradual build-and-release in any other song of this genre
Idk maybe just me but I worship this dude
I'm not really well versed in the genre so, just as you probably couldn't see what's so different between say Exodus and Slayer, I can't tell what's different between this and basically any other folk pop/rock stuff I've heard
Yeah fair enough didn't expect all you sputnik metallers to dig this anyway just spreading the love
This is aite. Dudes got a great voice no doubt - but the music really lacks any kind of intensity or edge & is ultimately completely forgettable for me like most typical hipster folky pop stuff.
Just not my kind of thing I guess...
"typical hipster folky pop stuff"
whaaaaaat?? folk is definitely not hipster rofl
sure it is
Digging: Dexter Gordon - Our Man in Paris
Watch out this guy knows his internet
and you let her goooo
