Yellowcard drummer leaves band

2014-03-22 by Green Baron | 43 Comments
Longineu Parsons III, longtime drummer for the pop-punk band Yellowcard, has announced his
departure from the group after seventeen years to pursue "other musical interests". With his
exit, violinist and backup vocalist Sean Mackin is the only remaining member from the band's
original 1997 lineup.

Yellowcard released an official statement on their Facebook page following Parsons'
departure:

"It has been announced that long-time drummer Longineu "LP" Parsons III has left
YELLOWCARD. Longineu has decided to pursue other musical interests. We wish him the best of
luck in his future endeavors
".

What's with these formal insincere statements from bands? More bands should just say it how it is (respectfully of course) and talk to their fans like normal human beings. Not some corporate politically correct, safe, all encompassing official statement.

Just a pet peeve. Okay I'm done ranting.

Guy was a damn good drummer. Underrated, if anything.

One of the best parts about going to yellowcard shows was watching LP kill it. This is sad. And I can't help but think it has something to do with their jump to razor and tie.

If he is a "really good drummer" he made the right decision by leaving those guys.

Thought I saw some issues they were having on social media, like the ex vocalist and drummer were hanging out and seemed like they were talking crap about the band...I'm probably wrong but oh well.

Here's to hoping they find a good replacement

Wrong. Their last two records were fantastic, especially Southern Air. Ocean Avenue was a great release too.

Damn this sucks, I was looking forward to seeing him jam this year at Warped. Hopefully they can find someone with a similar style.

Which isn't a bad thing

Really disappointing news, he's a very talented drummer
Though I found out about this like a week or 2 ago
I wonder who his replacement will be?

Of the little I've heard from this band, they're alright.

Have fond memories of listening to "Breathing" and "Rough Landing Holly" from the FlatOut 2 soundtrack.
