Best emo revival album along with What It Takes To Move Forward and yes I 5d it
Digging: The Brave Little Abacus - Just Got Back from the Discomfort
i love you right now.
Digging: Ulvesang - Ulvesang
Among The Wildflowers is up there with Gloria and I'll Take You Everywhere in terms of genre defining songs
Okay maybe not but it's genre defining in terms of emo revival
I've actually only heard 3 songs so far... STOKED
Can't stop listening to this. In Framing is just... hnnnngg
Such a good album. They need more fans.
I feel like this album is blowing up a lot quicker than their last one did
That's because it's a million times better
"It Never Goes Out" grew on me a lot though.
AOTY so far without a doubt
Digging: Shudder To Think - Pony Express Record
not so sure about the emo revival
it's blowing up a lot quicker than the last one because they're on a real label/are more of a real band than they were 3 years ago
Think I saw something about this band on Shai Hulud's FB page...which is why I will check it out
Digging: Craig Armstrong - As If to Nothing
That was really damn great album! Among the Wildflowers and Discomfort Revisted were awesome songs. Fucking love the emo revival
only listened to this once, didn't dig it as much as I thought I would. needs time to grow I guess.
i wanna see this on the trending albums list
Album is about self abuse and transgender dysphoria goddamn
Every song is fucking fantastic
yeah it's nice to see a band of this genre with lyrics that aren't bland as shit and are about semi-interesting/weighty topics
Digging: Man Bites Dog - Noir
I need to listen to this
alright this is fucking awesome
about as good as the future is cancelled
i'm such a sucker for this stuff
I might like this better than the future is cancelled (although I'm kind of burnt out on that album right now)
goddamn this rules
any of you guys from MA?
working on a review for it right now but nothing i can say will do this justice. oh well gonna post it soon anyways
let's get 3 staff reviews and 4 contributor reviews
Will listen when sober tomorrow. Trebor, you better be right.
lol, you reviewing it too treb? Man, I dig it so much but it's hard to put it all into words
I'm going to try
they put up all the lyrics for the album on bandcamp btw
Killer album so far. Really solid listen. Lyrically and sonically, they're one of my favorite bands to watch anymore. They're gonna be a big cog in the long run of the emo revival I feel.
I'm from MA
too inconsistent for me to truly enjoy
really hate how they constantly transition from pop punk to emo and vice versa
you could make two EPs with completely different sounds from this album. they'll probably shine once they get rid of their pop punk side
the duality is why this is so good
I think it all flows together quite nicely, even with the various influences. Not a bad song on the album
idk, it just weakens the album for me. like, it would be killer if they had made an album with tracks:
Introduction To Album, Among The Wilflowers, Life In Drag, Discomfort Revisited, Drendon
and more sounding like that, instead of filling the space up with subpar pop punk
and it's not like I have anything against pop punk but that style of pop punk has already been done to death by The Wonder Years, The Story So Far etc and it really looks the band has a unique thing going on with their other sound
I know what you mean, but to me the more pop punk songs (ie. In Framing) blend in really well with
the rest of the album. I mean from the songs you picked out, the first half of Among the Wildflowers
is pretty pop punk, Dendron has the catchiest hook on the album...idk. This has also always been a pop
punk band to me
The first half of Among The Wildflowers is straight up Mineral worship so def emo. Emo is catchy too you know
mineral worshipped by a pop punk band maybe
They're not a pop punk band anymore
They're not only* a pop punk band anymore
"any of you guys from MA?"
This album is so fucking good. Kinda crazy to see how much they've grown from their last releases, can't wait for this to come in on vinyl.
Wooooow, now I get the hype.
