Among The Wildflowers is up there with Gloria and I'll Take You Everywhere in terms of genre defining songs

Okay maybe not but it's genre defining in terms of emo revival

not so sure about the emo revival

it's blowing up a lot quicker than the last one because they're on a real label/are more of a real band than they were 3 years ago

Killer album so far. Really solid listen. Lyrically and sonically, they're one of my favorite bands to watch anymore. They're gonna be a big cog in the long run of the emo revival I feel.

too inconsistent for me to truly enjoy

really hate how they constantly transition from pop punk to emo and vice versa

you could make two EPs with completely different sounds from this album. they'll probably shine once they get rid of their pop punk side

I think it all flows together quite nicely, even with the various influences. Not a bad song on the album

silentstar

idk, it just weakens the album for me. like, it would be killer if they had made an album with tracks:

Introduction To Album, Among The Wilflowers, Life In Drag, Discomfort Revisited, Drendon

and more sounding like that, instead of filling the space up with subpar pop punk

silentstar
February 19th 2014

and it's not like I have anything against pop punk but that style of pop punk has already been done to death by The Wonder Years, The Story So Far etc and it really looks the band has a unique thing going on with their other sound

I know what you mean, but to me the more pop punk songs (ie. In Framing) blend in really well with
the rest of the album. I mean from the songs you picked out, the first half of Among the Wildflowers
is pretty pop punk, Dendron has the catchiest hook on the album...idk. This has also always been a pop
punk band to me
