T-Pain Covers Lorde's Royals
2014-02-17 by Alex Carlson | 55 Comments
Famed hip-hopper T-Pain, in collaboration with rapper Young Cash, has released a cover of
the smash hit 'Royals' by Lorde on Youtube.

T-Pain's use of auto-tuned vocals isn't the only change he's made to the song. He's also
changed a number of lyrics, making the song sound more about embracing the starlit lifestyle and the pride of being on top, a stark departure from Lorde's original message in the song.

Is it weird I don't actually hate this?

The beat is great, the autotune/melody works really well and this may be one of the better change the lyrics/meaning to a song I've heard in a while (with Dead Kennedy's "I Fought the Law" cover taking the cakde)

@krazytom

Well, the beat and melody of the music is pretty unchanged. It's the autotune aesthetic and the changing of the lyrics that's the biggest issue to me.
