SORNE Announces New LP

2014-02-17 by Elijah Andrew STAFF | 27 Comments
After three long years of gestating, experimental act SORNE have finally announced their follow up to their 2011 debut. Titled House of Stone: Death I, the record will once again marry the artist's penchant for bizarre sights and sounds, while furthering the story of Ego Altar. The album is set to be released on March 11th. Below you can listen to the haunting "Eat Your Young" as well as pre-order the record.

first house of stone is amazing, albeit a tad overlong. eat your young sounds pretty sweet, i think this could come out being a better record.

I thought this was going to be a series of EP's of the songs he already wrote for ego altar but guess not cuz I have ego altar and these songs aren't on this new record so yay!

Cannot wait [2]

I thought the first LP was supposed to come out in Feb, but it's good there's finally a set date. Kinda prefer the live version of Eat Your Young, but this one's great as well.

As long as he has 'Black Sister' on this LP, that was my favorite song off of the new album. Actually it's the best song he's done. IMO

Edit: nope dammit, this is an entirely new record from the looks of it.

@LordPotz

if you hunt around the internet you can probably find a copy of "Ego Altar" which is pretty different from House of Stone

Why would you want him to put old tracks on a new album

I'm guessing Eat Your Young is similar to House of Stone because it was written and recorded at around the same time(some version of it anyway). It's featured in the Children of the Black Mountain video/movie Sorne made a while back.

ya but it could also be so similar just cuz its the only sound sorne knows how to do i guess we will see soon enough

I'm ok with that being the only sound he knows how to do

lol i dunno why i got like willfully ignored but Ego Altar is /not/ that similar to House of Stone.
have either of you listened to it? like you can still tell that Morgan Sorne wrote it but it's definitely not the same sound

He has only released one song from that album as of now so Idk what you're talking about.

at first he was gonna release it as a normal LP, then as a series of EPs this year (after releasing it to the kickstarters), and now he's just gonna release an entirely new LP so fuck knows

that's what the confusion in my first comment was about

that's what I have and I believe it is but I have no idea what he intends to do with the material commercially in the future

My understanding of it is that he plans to release a series of 5 LPs over a couple years. I believe each one's supposed to be about/told from the perspective of one of the five children in his story.
