Until Holographic Universe the band was untouchable, since the departure of christian they went downhill.

I'm pretty sure most people lost interest in them after Holographic Universe.

Won't be terrible like Crysis says, I don't think, but it'll sure as hell be surprising if it's anything above average.

Are decent but far from the same level of the holographic universe. Still, pretending to hate Scar Symmetry is pathetic, even for a hipster

Really thought they were done after Dark Matter Dimensions, but The Unseen Empire is one of the best metal albums of the last five years at least. Looking forward to this.

Their post-Christian stuff has been pretty underrated. Still I'm not sure about a trilogy.

First post-Christian album was meh
second post-Christian album was ok--3/5 but nothing special.
I'm sorta glad he's gone, actually. After having lent his voice to many bands over the years, I've come to be really bored of hearing it. His death growl is so distinguishable it's sort of become a cliche in and of itself. I'm glad 'Symmetry's new vocalists don't sound like him.

They never got BAD per se, they just dropped down to average after Christian left. He added so much to the band and gave them a hugely valuable dynamic to their sound, and without him there's little to really differentiate them from most other melodeath bands these days.

I honestly liked Dark Matter Dimensions, and I thought these guys were better off without Christian. Yeah, the guy is a great vocalist, but I felt like he brought this super pretentious vibe to the music. The Unseen Empire was pretty bad, but I honestly like the two guys more than Christian.

Fair enough. In the end you're the real winner I guess, since the era of Christian is over yet post-Christian Scar has two albums with a trilogy planned.

Holographic Universe is one of my favorite metal album ever, but I still think this band makes great music. Everything they put out is awesome in my opinion and I think the new vocalists are a good fit. Can't wait for this.

Never got into the guy who handles the 'clean' vocals, so I'm not that interested for this.

woah, a trilogy? I thought they would disband after one of the guitarists left after the release of The Unseen Empire.

The Unseen Empire contained some good stuff. Itw as definitely an improvement so this could be great too.

Everything I've heard from this band has been pretty awesome. Holographic Universe has been my favorite that I have been jamming to for about 5 years and I still listen to it frequently.

Three albums is a lot of material but as long as it doesn't all sound like filler and recycled material I think this could be good. If it is a concept story, I'm inteterested even more.

Holographic Universe was a virtually flawless album; losing Christian is easily the worst thing that's ever happened to this band. Dark Matter Dimensions was piss-poor follow up that I tend to forget I even own. On the other hand, I love The Unseen Empire, so I can't help but have high hopes for this.

I'm crossing my fingers and reserving judgment.

Roberth's growls are by all means top notch. Lars' singing could use some improvement, but it's not tragic either. Anyhow, the singers weren't the problem with their last two albums, it was the songwriting. But have faith - Soilwork released The Living Infinite after three absolutely abysmal albums and one good one. Actually The Panic Broadcast was pretty fucking sweet, and it was only the start of an upward slope. If Soilwork could do it, can't Scar Symmetry? puh-lease
