New Of Solitude and Solemn EP

2014-01-03 by DarkNoctus | 32 Comments
Post-rock/doom metal solo project Of Solitude and Solemn has released his new EP, "Starlight's Guide", for free download on Bandcamp.

The tracks were originally intended for a split with Courtsleet, an ex-member of A Forest of Stars, but manufacturing issues hindered plans. Instead, both sides will be on separate EP's and they'll be packaged together as a physical release some time this year.

This EP is all original material what won't appear anywhere else. The album will be released in late spring/early summer.

The EP can be downloaded here:

Besides the sound of the drums here, I really like this. Songwriting/instrumentation is really good. I generally don't like doom, but your keyboard/synth usage makes this really accessible even for me.

Damn Noctus. I guess you didn't want to crush my best of 2013 list by releasing this 4 days ago. Seriously great work. Half way through Illuminance and I'm loving this more than a ton of music from last year.

Also, have you checked out Ohm Studio? You could probably get someone to track some live drumming for you on that without much trouble.

Band name sounds like the music. And the music sounds cool. Post-Doom Agalloch or something.

fffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!

This is awesome stuff Noctus, just read back through the thread and noticed you are looking at putting out and LP later in the year :] are you planning a physical release or just gonna put it our through bandcamp?

thank you thank you!

it all depends on what's possible i suppose - if there's enough demand i will do a physical release, the physical release for this will be coming out later in the year and will be packaged with an ep from another band, essentially a split but not /quite/

but initially the album will just go up on bandcamp for free download [:
