Alexisonfire Box Set
2013-12-05 by sailSAway | 51 Comments
After calling it quits in 2010, releasing a farewell album of acoustic tracks, and tying things off with one final farewell tour soon after, Alexisonfire is releasing the definitive AOF vinyl collector's edition BOX SET.

For $250 (Can) this box set contains every full length album, EP and rare recording by Alexisonfire, re-mastered at 45rpm, and pressed on 180g double black vinyl. Many of these releases are making it to vinyl for the first time, or have been long out-of-print. This collection features the “never before heard remaster, by Nick Blagona at Jukasa Studios, of the debut album 'Alexisonfire' and two bonus tracks recorded during the Death Letter session.” The set will come with a 28 page photo book, vinyl slipmat & 45 adaptor, along with digital download of high quality mp3 tracks.

The set will be available to pre-order on December 25, and will be shipped in early January 2014. Keep in mind you will not be able to purchase individual titles from the box set through the band.

DGD released all six of their LPs for $50.

I have always loved Alexisonfire. I've seen them nine times, I loved each song they wrote, but $250?

Sorry.

Damn there's only 25 being made. You could make mad money off this

edit: just realised 12/25 is the date of the pre-order, not the amount ordered vs amount available.
Feel kind of retarded

There's actually a lot of stuff in this set if you bother to take a look at the link. The 250 doesn't seem so ridiculous anymore. Still way out of my price range at the moment.

only 4 LPs, no unreleased material, and it's 5x what DGDs was.

if you go to the notes about each album, their opinion is that the music got better when it was more focused. i fucking hate that opinion. their music just got more constrained and shitty the further they went. why did they have to suck the cock of popular convention? when their s/t and Watch Out rock so damn hard.

"only 4 LPs, no unreleased material, and it's 5x what DGDs was. "

Each album is a double lp so that's 8 12" right there
4 other 12" of random Eps and stuff
4 7" and one 10"
Slipmat and 45 adapter
28p book
digital downloads for everything

its a lot of stuff man

Their debut is a hard five. Watch Out is worse, but still a masterpiece. Crisis was great. OCYC was okay/good. Dog's Blood was great. Basically each album was a step down from the previous one with the exception of Dog's Blood, which aside from being disappointingly short was a nice return to form.

1000 x $250 = $250000 - (cost of manufacturing) = ? - (cost of remastering, art, etc) = ? / (5, the number of band members) = ~$10000-$30000 each

fucking millionaires

$250. That's just so unfortunate, I wish I liked their newer material as much as their older material. I'd totally be puchasing this if that was the case.
