Holy fuck I am so at that Tempe date. This is great news.
Digging: Lucy - Churches Schools and Guns
Hopefully there's a new album in the works
Digging: Modern Day Babylon - Travelers
As long as Craig Owens stays the fuck away from this it should be awesome.
so jealous of anyone who sees them live, and yeah new album pls
Digging: Team Sleep - Team Sleep
"As long as Craig Owens stays the fuck away from this it should be awesome."
pretty much, yeah
It's going to be awesome either way
are these guys djent
also just found out that they're offering a bundle of Lover... CD and We Must Become the Change DVD for $12 on Merchnow
getting that so hard
"are these guys djent"
they're post-djent, duh
finally some news i care about
nvm i think i'm thinking of a different animals band
this is the only one that matters tbh
is they ne gud
like.. riyl me
wait i thought one of the guitarists from Finch was in this band and they are doing that reunion what it is to burn tour....hmmm
7 years ago was 2006?
edit: damn nvm those live shows were in 2006
Digging: The Hotelier - Home, Like NoPlace Is There
@Gnarly they have members from Circa Survive, Finch, RXB so maybe if you like those bands, but really they're weird as fuck so it's hard to RIYL
@Calc TSOAF really have a constantly changing line-up with a core three-piece (Embree, Balling, Green) so maybe the dude from Finch won't be on this tour
I just hope they play all 4 acts of Tiger and the Duke. That's my favorite release of anyone involved in this band.
"7 years ago was 2006?"
He's referring to the last time they played together live
okay that song was ballin will check
one of the best songs off that album imo
the closer is the best on that one. then the single
damn, it's no On the Occasion or Uzbekistan but yeah it rules
whenever i see acronyms like this i get excited because for some reason I always read it as something else and then i see see what it was referring to and get upset.
i think i may have thought it was these arms are snakes due to dyslexia
well this is a better band so...
(i do like these arms are snakes though)
BTW, their live DVD is up on youtube if anyone wants to get hyped:
the live DVD which I just bought for $12 FUCK YEAH
Wish it was new tues but Looks like just a lame reunion tour for now, Rx Bandits did the same this past summer.
Digging: Daniel Avery - Drone Logic
tiger + duke
Chris Tsagakis, the drummer from R,X has been with them since the beginning as well. And if I remember correctly one of the Finch guitarists was involved with Tiger and the Duke but nothing else.
But definitely the best news in a hot minute. Pretty sure I'll be taking a road trip to Philly next spring.
I MUST SEE THEM
i will be getting my ticket for the PA date on friday!!!
Digging: Lionize - Jetpack Soundtrack
we all in PA we all goin it gonna be a blast
new material plz? [2,3,4,5,6]
soooo stoked! gonna road trip to NY for this!
do you guys want the info about the DVD in the article?
i live in northeast ohio so i will be driving to PA for this
great support acts
definitely traveling up to PA for this.
as long as they dont play anything off ocean and the sun fuck yeah
I may end up going to that AZ date simply cause Appleseed Cast is my friends favorite band and he's been loving the shit out of TSOAF lately
Do it man, it should be fun as hell.
"as long as they dont play anything off ocean and the sun fuck yeah"
what's the beef with Ocean and the Sun?
Fucking hell Xing I love this band and I can't go and yet you have heard like one of their songs and you get to go, no fucking fair
I know and I don't even care if I go or not, I am sorry Though I have actually heard all of their albums due to my friend, I just couldn't remember any of it that I heard
This is the same case with me. I'm not huge into them and I've listened to a couple songs. I can literally walk to the AZ venue and get free tickets. So I'll probably end up going because I understand how rare this is and I'll probably be more into them by the time march rolls around.
Digging: St. Vincent - St. Vincent
damn you both to hell
remember when you went to the ALLB concert and missed most of it Xing?
THAT'S ME RIGHT NOW
Good point. I should start soaking it all in so that I will hopefully love them by that time. I like Appleseed Cast at least
Yeah man at least try and know the songs or else you won't get the full experience
Never heard any Appleseed Cast
I'd describe them as a mix of like.. emo and post rock. Not the kind of twinkly emo though
Xing check this, you might dig http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqilw-MhnoQ
Sounds like a pretty decent combo
"I can literally walk to the AZ venue and get free tickets"
Wait I can walk there too, how is it that you're getting free tickets??? Hook a brother up!
@Xing check out Tiger & the Duke. It's really only 4 tracks but definitely the band's best IMO.
First third of that track is boring but the rest is ace
I love it all, particularly the "I lied through my teeth when I swore that I'd never go back" part but whatev
Embree did the vocals on that one in case you were wondering
I could tell :]
That's far from the best track on the album IMO. Heraldic Beak wins that for me somewhat easily.
But again, I think The Tiger and the Duke is the best release of anyone involved with the project.
;) of course you could
I honestly think that's one of his best vocal performances, he doesn't annoy me there like in RXB, but it's a shame that he's mixed so damn low. Also that's the only TSOAF song he ever did vocals for unfortunately.
@TMobotron never said it was my fave from the album, On the Occasion of Wet Snow takes that cake for me. Not a massive fan of Heraldic Beak, instrumentally it's immaculate but the vocals just go nowhere and are boring
Yeah dude I didn't assume that it was your favorite or intend to talk down on that as a recommendation because I dig it a lot too, I just wanted to make it clear to Xing that there's plenty to get into from the group.
I hear you about Heraldic Beak though, it's definitely fueled by the instrumentation. I wouldn't call the vocals boring personally, but I get where you're coming from.
IDK sometimes I think it isn't my favorite, but it was the pre-release single that got me so hyped for the album at a time when I thought TSOAF was done as a group so I kind of have a special attachment to the track because I jammed it on repeat for ages. Plus I have the 7" that has it and the title track on the flip.
But in general T&D >, IMO
Ah ok fair enough, I only got into them post-Ocean and the Sun being released. I think that one's definitely my favourite but all three albums are incredible.
i really only liked the i the swan.... their music isn't very accessible.
@TMobotron I can get free tickets to the marquee because I work at asu's radio station and they give out lucky man tickets. Often times they'll have tickets that they won't use so they just give them to staff (me).
