Conditions Announce Breakup2013-11-08 by Daniel Davis EMERITUS | 25 Comments
|The post-hardcore band Conditions have announced their decision to disband after being a group for eight years. The band will have a farewell tour in May of next year, following a short run in December of this year. The band released two studio albums and one EP, including an album earlier this year, entitled Full Of War.|
From the band's Facebook page:
"To our wonderful fans, friends and family –
After many long conversations and a lot of time to think, we as a collective unit have decided that it is time that we walk away from Conditions. At the turn of this year, we will have been a band for 8 years, and feel it’s at that point that we all consider what’s next for us individually. We are incredibly thankful for the experiences that we’ve had and being so lucky to have people like all of you believe in us so strongly. We want this to end on the highest note possible, because that’s where all of us are. We’re happy. We’re thankful for this band taking us all over the world and giving us so much, but we’re also excited to move forward with our lives.
When we wrote what became “Keeping Pace With Planes” in our parents garage, we had NO idea where this all would take us. From our first show on December 1st, 2006 at Alley Katz in Richmond, VA to tackling the entire United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and even Australia, it has been an unbelievable ride.
We wanted to get this word out sooner than later, so all of you have an opportunity to come out and see us one last time if we come to your town. We are planning one last tour in May of 2014 as a farewell. Where we go is yet to be determined, but that will be surfacing over the next few months. As some of you may know, we are doing a short tour in December across the Midwest and Northeast. We’re not sure if we’ll hit those spots again in the spring, so please come out and share a sendoff with us!
Thank you for coming to our shows, singing along, buying our records, buying our shirts, and taking the time to talk and share your stories with us. Thank you for the letters, the pictures, the tattoos, and the nights that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We have been insanely lucky to get the opportunity to do what we’ve done, and all of us are forever grateful for that.
Thank you for your support over the last 8 years. Let’s go out strong.
Brandon, Alex, Corey and Ryan"
Seem like some good dudes. Haven't listened to these guys in forever but I used to jam the You Are Forgotten EP every once in a while.
Saw these guys live before I'd heard of them and ended up checking out their albums because of how great they were. Sad day.
This sucks. Great band.
May as well say this now & give away what no-one cares about, but 'Full of War' is currently my album of the year!
And I totally recommend their live show. They put every ounce of effort they have into it.
very sad, great band. loved their EPs. full of war didn't work at all for me though.
rip : (
What the fuck. I'm so tired of supporting bands, only to have them throw in the towel after a couple of full lengths. These guys were solid, not sure why they are deciding it's best for them to "consider what's next for (them) individually."
I knew this was gonna happen soon. Especially since they had to drop off that one tour recently because they said they had no money to tour. They've just been around too long and never caught on. Awesome band, but they never broke out and got huge like they should have.
Conditions have not been met.
Yeah I guess that makes sense.
Full of War was so amazing, this sucks so much
Band was boring
Yeah, Full of War should have gotten them signed to a major label and played on rock radio stations everywhere, and probably would have if it had come out a couple years earlier when this sort of music was bigger in the mainstream eye (Saosin, etc)
that's a big shame
shit that sucks
Haven't checked Full Of War yet but Fluorescent Youth rules pretty hard. Good luck to them.
they broke up on what Conditions?
Wow, this sucks. My day has officially been ruined. Everything they put out was great, especially Fluorescent Youth.
Full of War was alot worse than Flourescent Youth but this is too bad
