Borrrrring. Bums me out, I have been looking forward to new music from them. I dig the solo but
fucking hell WHERE IS THE LEAD WORK in the rest of the song? Djenting all over the place for nearly an
entire track is just... No.

What do you expect from a band who loves Pantera? After the Burial has always been about awesome technical grooves and this fills the bill really well. I love this song so much. And if you watched any of their pre-production there is plenty of lead work, it will be on the album.

i do dig it, but i hope the album isn't all stuff like this

I like that they can write riffs with a lot of groove to them, but I wish they wouldn't dedicate huge chunks of time to that alone, throw some other elements in there with it. The solo helps but the song could have come out so much better.

Yeah, I'm sure the album will be a good variety of music and not all this. In Dreams had a lot of different stuff on it and so did Rareform so I wouldn't expect them to put out a bunch of songs just like this one.

Cheesy "ambient synth", extremely compressed production, 0101b0001b0 endless djent "riffs".

But I agree its much better than the other sumeriancore so far. The 8-strings do actually sound pretty tight and clear. Vocal patterns are cool too. Just bummed there hasn't been any interesting riffs in sumeriancore so far, it's all bells and whistles.

Yeah there should be a lot more lead work in the other songs from what I've heard in their pre-production vids. And I hear the solo just fine Kronzo, could it be your speakers maybe? The production is a little bit different but, they mix their own stuff so it's not going to be the same as if it were professionally done.

How do you even get a sound like the one around 1:20? A really heavy noise gate? I mean it sounds like they're using a killswitch, but they definitely aren't in live videos.

Kyyzen

They were given some prototype strings by a company and the strings were supposed to be able to be tuned lower with less of a floppy noise. When Trent said they were trying them out he said he was able to tune really low without the normal floppy noise that, that tuning normally gives off. This opened up a lot of lower tones to experiment with.

It doesn't sound lazy as fuck, it has time changes everywhere. This would be really hard to play with all the pattern changes/time changes regardless of it being a lot of 0's. I saw them play this song live and when they get to the last groove they stop headbanging and kind of space out from focusing so hard and Trent even counts out the time signature because, it's different than what the cymbal/snare is playing.

Meaning they are likely influenced by Pantera a lot... as in the Pantera that grooves a lot... have you listened to Pantera before?

@bloc yeah song is really good and I don't believe the whole album will be like this (hopefully) otherwise it would get pretty repetitive. But, I'm hopeful that the rest of the album will be different given Justin's statement saying this album is like a fresh start for them and they put a lot of effort into this album and it pushed them as musicians. So I'm excited to hear the rest of the album and see what they have in store for us.

Yes this panther band sounds exactly like them because that is exactly what I said. I never mentioned "influenced by" ever as that would just be too logical. I instead opted for saying After the Burial is exactly like this Panther band that has all Italian Panthers as their band. These panthers only got famous because they would kill anything that would say they were bad and crusified anyone who said they were "lol generic" because they thought it was so kvlt. -_-

This track really bummed me out. Compared to their first album that had so much groove and intensity... this, this is just monotonous. That last minute of repeated chugging was useless and lame. For a 5 minute song I was expecting like a minute guitar solo not a 20 second tease. I will give them that the lyrics in the song are more creative this time around.
